Glover Jackson HAS to be on the list.
Misha Mutavic - not on the list...only 6'11" dude never to get a dunk in college.

Also, didn't Darryl Joe have some amazing leaps? Or am I confusing that memory with someone else?
pretty sure you are thinking of Maurice Williamson, he could sky.
Also, Maurice Carter, Ronnie Henderson, Lester earl (pre-injury), and Glover Jackson have to be mentioned.

+1..Best leaper I can remember at LSU, just not that good at basketball.

Yeah. Tyrus could grab stuff off the top of the backboard.

Yes Dennis Brown was at Woodlawn graduated in 83 I believe. Had the misfortune of playing behind Derrick Taylor at LSU. Couldnt shoot a lick but could jump out of the gym!! Still probably the greatest on ball defensive guard to ever play at LSU. Was like glue.
Cant believe I forgot Swat Mitchell. Also Ocie Conley was a helluva leaper as well.

Glover Jackson. I think he played at the end of the Dale Brown tenure probably 15 years ago.
Supposedly, at practice, they would bring a latter in, and place a quarter on the top of the backboard of the goal, and this dude would sky and grab the quarter off the top of the fricking backboard.
Never saw it, but if true thats pretty sick.

quote:Your list is very accurate. Before Ronnie's injury, he had a 40' vertical. That was better than than Vernel. Mo could jump as well. He's pushing 6 ft. and could flush it two handed with little effort.

I'd have to add Ronald Dupree to the list as well.

AL GREEN
Having been a Track guy at LSU and a close friend of Pete & other basketballers the transfer of Al Green from NC State really caught my attention. In his one season here , he was an all SEC guard. He did not run track @ LSU but I believe he was the ACC triple jump & 100 champ !
At 6'2 he could sky ! I belive his vertical was at least 40" but I think it was 42" or in other words , pretty close to former fellow Wolfpacker David Thompson's vertical !

Leonard Mitchell could jump thru the Deaf Dome ceiling.
I also can't believe nobody has mentioned Jerry "Ice" Reynolds yet.

Probably why he ended up a Harlem Globetrotter.

Ice could jump but he was so long and lanky it made him look like he got up higher than he actually did.

quote:Almost forgot about him. He came out of Woodlawn with an unbelievable vertical leap record. Don't know exactly what it was but if memory serves me right, it was a record at the time.

If you are mixing both vertical and style points. No one comes close to DeWayne Scales. Some can surpass him with leap but not with stlye and vice versa.
