In the long run, pitching would prevail because its easier to control. On the other hand, does not bring life to our fans like Geauxrilla ball. Wish we had more deep threat like the good old days combined with our good pitching.

A lot of people seems to forget that even during "geauxrilla ball" we had very good pitching. Sure the ERA's were in the 4's if you look at stats but that's about the same as an ERA in the 2's with todays bats.

Ya..LSU had some great pitching during the Bertman years. After all, Skip WAS a pitching coach. It's a testament to his flexibility as a head coach to realize the long ball was the best way to go on offense.

Want both.

Or at least more pop than we have.

The bats today are no where near what the bats in the 90s were. That's the difference in gorilla ball and the hitters in this lineup.

I never realized until yesterday how much effect the balls have on keeping the offense down. Lowering the seams could be an easy change to help the long ball.

BTW, anyone think LSU will have a 10 home run hitter next year? Bregs possibly?

Don't listen to that announcer. He loves the game as it is now. Lower seems would help but they need to bring back some pop in the bats. I haven't seen a HR to dead CF in a long time.

Has nothing to do with that, and everything to do with equipment.
