Seems it could be longer than 2 years. Not sure at what point this comes into play
the grand jury would specifically have to indict him under that paragraph of the statute. You'd have to read the bill of indictment to know if they did.

So why did he fire the weapon? Did he happen to be shooting rabid, vandal possums at the same time a gun fight was going on in the same exact location?

You mean why did he allegedly fire the weapon?

Are you saying someone else fired his gun?

I have no idea.

Did you sit through the grand jury testimony? Because I didn’t. Do you know the exact evidence that was presented? Do you know what plausible defense Holly might have at trial? All I’m saying is that there’s a possibility he’s innocent. Or maybe he’s not. But a grand jury indictment is not a conviction. I don’t even know what facts are actually in dispute between Holly and the DA.

You seem quite certain of his guilt, and you clearly don’t think an indefinite suspension is enough. Maybe you know more than I do.. if so, please feel free to share with the class. Otherwise I’m perfectly fine with letting him have his day in court.

A lot of people around here have Crow on the menu tonight. 12 months earlier and I would have been on the bandwagon on burying this young man without knowing everything. However, in that time I’ve been up close and personal with the justice system in Louisiana and I’ve learned how truly of a messed up system/process it can be. Hopefully he fights the one remaining charge and calls the bluff of the DA.

No, which is why I asked what charge did you mean. Pretending to be ignorant simply because it suits you is your prerogative just don’t ask me to play dumb too.

No what? You didn’t ask me what charge I meant...?

You said he needed to be dismissed from the team. I said he might be innocent and you said, and I quote, “he shot at someone, period.”

Never mind the fact that the remaining charge doesn’t actually allege that he shot at anyone. Whatever. I even let that slide. My entire point was that the case hasn’t gone to trial yet regardless of the actual charges. We don’t even really have the DA’s side of the story yet. But for some reason you’re not OK with an indefinite suspension.

Of? He shot at someone period, end of story in terms of whether he should remain with the team.

You don’t know what actually happened, no more than the people that tried to bury him. I remember a few posters that said he was good to go and they were quickly ostracized because according to some those posters didn’t really know anything, or those posts were just outright deleted.

Well a grand jury just charged him with a felony. I would say those saying he was “good to go” back then were wrong

That “one remaining charge” is a gun related felony. If he’s found guilty of that, he’s done at LSU.

Nah man, he wasn’t even there. Didn’t you read what he said? He's not lying, people just made up that gunfight to frame him for no reason at all. He didn’t even do nothin.

I’d be willing to bet that charge will be reduced to some type of misdemeanor, after that happens it’s a different story.

Need to see what his thoughts are on the national anthem before he can be reinstated. That’s what’s really important.

Definitely seems like his lawyer knows what he’s doing, but I wouldn’t be surprised if his days at LSU are over anyway. That’s just a guess, I have no idea, but it would seem unless all charges get dropped, a weapons related offense isn’t super good. At this point I just hope he has a good future in football because he seems like a good dude from what I’ve read. I’m biased because he’s LSU, but, he didn’t kill anyone and didn’t try to kill anyone. He’s not Henry Ruggs.
