He should come back onto the team to compete for the backup spot, but not automatically given the spot. Him and Mett should both get opportunities in trash time if they can. I'd prefer Mett to get more though considering he's got more than just this season.

Unglesby just said on news "sometime next year we'll have this trial on the misdemeanor".
So tonight Miles will tell the media just when/if JJ can return to the team.
This is far from over.

Yeah, but he only led the offense to 13 points in a season that saw the most points scored in LSU history.

For you JJ lovers, how would you feel if you were the kid that got kicked in the head by Jefferson?

yes, and he will most likely.
prob so. the burden of proof is much lower. good luck on ever collecting from him though unless he really hits it big in da league

Why would JJ want to play this season? Based on several of the comments made by his lawyer and his family, JJ thinks he has a potential NFL career ahead of him.
The season would be half over before he would have any chance to be inserted into a game. Even then, it is very unlikely that he would play significant snaps. That is not a good recipe for impressing NFL scouts that have watched him under-perform for several years.
He would be crazy to rejoin the team as anything other than a redshirt player.

Maybe now we can have Honey Badger and JJ mean mug the camera together.
Does JJ have any potential on defense?

My gut says he's taking the fall for some other people on the team who were also involved. Unglesby hinted as much in the radio interview where he said this all about getting Jordan to cough up the name(s) of the other players involved in the fight.
My biggest fear

JJ may have a place to help this team in the end, but it looks like he's not out of the woods with this legal trouble yet.
That being said. This is JL's team. A quarterback is the leader of the team and JL is showing that he is a leader who can win games.
JJ rarely showed the type of leadership that wins games on the field. He is sorely lacking in that department off the field.

it's all over 'concern' for the locker room...despite obvious displays of support for JJ by the team AND CLM's history of handling adversary.
Adversity? I know lots of players support JJ and Miles does well with adversity, but the point is still valid. I supported JJ and didn't want him to be dragged through all of this, but I am not sure whether or not he is good to have back on the team at this moment in time. Miles will have to play this very, very carefully to avoid distractions to the team and his current starting QB.

JJ means a lot to the team and that matters.
he obviously has some buddies on the team, but barring injuries, he adds nothing to the current offense. In addition, it will be interesting to see how he handles his return, does he accept a backup role or does he start making public statements about being the starter. He's rarely been known as someone who says "all the right things".
