I hadn’t even thought about O making a return to LA. Totally forgot he coached in that cesspool.

This is pathetic. He was the interim HC at the time

No doubt this game will be very special for him. The emotions, being back in LA, how exciting.

His time out there is why we have Ricks. HS coaches out there still love him, way more than they do Helton or Kelly

What Could Have Been If Ed Orgeron Was Named USC HC Instead of Steve Sarkisian

for those coming to the game, keep in mind that the only "cesspool" is SC(um).

Bel Air vs. SC campus, take a tour if you have the time.

no one calls our campus a cesspool, or Westwood, or Bel Air. Figueroa Tech? another story

you won't believe the uproar at Fig Tech when they let him go. They're still pissed. Only to be topped after the 2019 title, which made every Bruin smile broadly!

Great read there! This game is personal for O. He wants to show the folks of SC that they messed up. This could be almost another RTWFU post game moment if we win. Not as monumental but it’s a big one for O.

It’s almost discrimination the way the country club prick boosters ran him off because of how he speaks and his demeanor. It’s no mystery why so many people love this guy. He’s very likable.

you nailed it, Pat Haden is as Country Club as it got, and he ruined their Athletic Dept for years,

But a huge portion, I'd dare to say a solid majority at least, wanted him hired permanently.

Losing to ND and then UCLA sealed the deal. Mora put an arse-whooping on him

I believe

"Ed Orgeron, USC’s interim football coach, had fans, alumni and players in his corner. But USC athletic director Pat Haden wasn’t impressed.

Lane Kiffin couldn’t win with the same players Orgeron won during an amazing run with the Trojans.

Haden will need to explain this one

Kessler, former USC Hesiman winner Marcus Allen and other alumni were on a futile campaign in backing Orgeron. Haden never was going to hire him"

From Coach O to ‘Oh, no:’ USC spurns Ed Orgeron for Steve Sarkisian

quote:

USC's hiring of Washington's Steve Sarkisian as its new head football coach seems to have had the exact opposite effect of the effect hirings are supposed to have.

To be fair, the glum mood seems not to come from any pre-existing feelings about Sarkisian, but rather the resignation of Ed Orgeron, the wildly popular interim coach

quote:

How hard will Sark's job be? Players openly crying after Orgeron's departure. #USC

quote:
#USC players were instructed to not comment on coaching situation. Some left meeting with visible tear marks

quote:
It got worse when the players got to Twitter:

quote:
Three players on the team literally likened the move to the death of a father. Let that settle in. Three players on the team literally likened the move to the death of a father.

quote:
@_mcmxcv__ Feel like I lost my dad again........

quote:
@_mcmxcv__ If you think Coach O was just a football coach then your missing 99% of what he was to us!!

quote:
@somavainuku Coach O was more then a coach, he was a father to us, and treated us like we were his own sons... Nothing but good things coming his way!

quote:
Note: this is not including the semi-breakdown suffered by an LA Daily News reporter

quote:
As he was leaving Dan Weber asked Pat Haden "How's it going" and he responded, "I've had better days." #USC

THAT'S THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR. THAT'S THE GUY WHO MADE THE HIRE.

Congrats Bigho111

In the course of 3 days here, you are working on close to half the posts you've made on Ruin Gold in over 8 yrs!!

We know the Tigahs have your attention. It is painfully clear.

Now lets see if you slip back into oblivion serving strudels and tea, in West Hollywood, once the sun has set on your Ruins.

I know this will be a devastating blow, but blows are something you are all too familiar with!

BTW Plaschke is a hack. Isn't the LA times just his cover for being a U$C beat reporter? Enjoy the attention while you can!!

Coach O chant. Stanford called back-to-back timeouts before they ever ran a play.

Coach O had LSU fans wishing they could cheer like the USC fans during that game. He had that place ROCKING!!!
