So is the Miss State game a gold out game? Are they asking all the fans to wear gold?

I remember a game a few years back when we wore gold jerseys.
That was back when the visitor had the option of granting permission to the home team to wear white jerseys. Vandy was the only team that said no, so we wore gold that game and had a white-out in the stadium. The rule has since changed.
As far as when we where white or purple:
It's white for all SEC games (except moo U a couple years ago at their place) and for all big out of conference games (see Va Tech 2007). I expect us to be in white for WVU
For all lower tier ooc games, it's purple (which is why homecoming is generally purple).

That was a motivational ploy by Gerry D. I think the magic is back by now (although some will argue that its slipping away again). I know that its "tradition", but for my first 15 or so years watching the Tigers, the "tradition" was purple jerseys at home. We just haven't had a coach yet with the stones to fully go back to the purple jerseys at home.

if they would and they would win by 30 points, all of these youngsters would say:
"WEAR PURPLE BITCHES"

Holy shite this thread has fail written all over it... First of all we do gold out game every year and it is strictly for the fans... Second we wear white jerseys for every game except out of conference games. If it is a season opener at home against out of conference then we wear white still. We have not worn gold jerseys in this decade... Now who ever started this thread is either a complete idiot or just trying to start shite..

This has to be a joke. You mean for those (approximately) 15 historical years that we wore purple at home. That is 15 years out of about 100. Give me the traditional white every time.

answer to this question is no.

i didn't say anything about history. i just said that when i was going to lsu games as a kid, this is what i remember. so, for me it was "tradition".

Seems like someone has to post this every season...
1) For an SEC game, the home team decides which jerseys they will wear. As such, LSU will choose to wear white for all SEC home games. The past two times LSU has played in Starkville we wore purple because Moo State - the home team - opted to wear white.
2) LSU wears purple for its home OOC games (this is actually a tradition that Saban started), except for the home opener (see Virginia Tech 2007, App State 2008) or other important events (like the 50th Anniversary of the Halloween Run last year when they wore white because those were the uniforms Billy Cannon et al wore).
So for this year, you can expect to see LSU in white for Moo State, Tennessee, Alabama, and Ole Miss. You can expect to see them in purple for McNeese and ULM. I'd expect they'll wear purple for WVU, but that's the only real question mark. They might want to wear white to promote the popular image of LSU since it'll be a primetime game on ESPN2 between two (hopefully) ranked teams.
