I’ll be back here for a victory lap if we do end up wearing these.

I wouldn’t count on it, but here’s some hope for you.

Stumbled upon a new Gold LSU football jersey at Rally House in Baton Rouge on Sunday. Still haven’t seen these posted online anywhere… new gold game unis or just fan merch?

jerseys that look similar to those have been sold for at least 20 years

Here are some on ebay

LSU is a brand known worldwide with gold pants, white jerseys and gold helmets. I wish we would wear them every game

Does anyone know if they ever wore gold before the Notre Dame independence bowl game thst they did in 1997?

The Vandy game in 96. The original NCAA home game exception for white at home was that the visitors had to agree. This usually wasn’t an issue, but Vandy had an ax to grid against DiNardo and the bad memories of purple were still fresh, so they went with gold.

Unfortunately, they looked like arse. They were practice quality jerseys and they kept the Gold helmets. It didn’t look good at all. The ND jerseys were much better.

That's three different color jerseys: canary, school bus, and orange. Only the middle one is suitable for a "gold game" uniform

If I’m not mistaken, didn’t we wear gold in a game against Florida as well due to Spurrier wanting to wear white at home?

Yep. It was the year after we upset them when they were #1. I think they beat us pretty good in that one.

I was at that game. I graduated in 97 and was in grad school at FSU. Some LSU friends had two tickets from people who backed out and we gladly bought them. I didn’t think about that game with gold jerseys since it wasn’t a home game, but you guys are right.

LSU lead that game at half and it was actually still a 6 point game in the 4th quarter before UF used a WR pass for a big play TD to seal it. Even then it definitely wasn’t a blowout. Probably the only game that season they Lou Tepper’s defense had a pulse against a good team.
