It would've been good for this team to get some tournament experience with so many players coming back. Plus, a chance to play in MSG wouldn't be bad either. Madison Square Garden has to be one of the top basketball venues IMHO.

Don't get carried away.

When half of your wins are vs. teams with an RPI over 200, and 2 of your losses are to teams with RPI below 200, you don't "deserve" anything.

yes, b/c charleston southern and their whopping 189 RPI deserves it more than LSU.

Resumes don't exist in a vaccuum. Ours was better than a third of the teams that got in.

Agree...it is just a sign of a very flawed system. Our RPI is higher than probably 8-10 teams in the NCAA tournament also...but we know how that tournament works...the crappy league teams get the auto bids over teams that are clearly better. That is just how it is. Now the NIT has to take the league champs that don't win their conference tournament...which further waters down the field. So yeah, our resume might have been better than some NIT teams, but that is just how it goes...

But I stand by the statement...we don't "deserve" anything.

Wouldn't two more weeks of practice and possibly 5 more games be beneficial to building towards next year? Or is it better to sit on your arse and play X Box for the next 2 weeks?

Wouldn't it be goofy if UK won the NCAA tourney then the NIT the next year?

Quick...besides Pitt, name all the other CBI champs. Tell me who they beat to win it. Tell me anything else about it. If you win it, who cares? If you lose in it, it is embarrassing. And either way it costs money. What if we host and only 1200 people show up? If that...

That tournament is an irrelevant money drain. I am glad we said NO.

Again, you dont know your head from your arse. subjectivity is not your strong suit apparently.

I'm watching the NIT. I cant wait to see UK at 3,500 capacity Robert Morris gym. Basketball fans will watch this. Why would ESPN broadcast every game? Maybe we should tell them they are wasting their money. jackass

We didn't want the NIT.
Character problems.
Off the court problems.
Pulled their offer, which was never committable anyway.
We'll find a better tournament, which will be a better fit, anyway.
