It's easy to ask this under normal circumstances based on how it turned out.

HOWEVER... In this case:
1. Frosh kicker
2. Momentum
3. Defense down some key players
4. Defense on field a bunch for multiple double digit play drives
5. trouble in kicking game in camp
6. trouble in kicking game in this game

It's a valid question here. The biggest being our defense was struggling against their pass with us getting pressure but them finding holes to complete passes AND, here's the key, plenty of YAC to gain first downs. You don't want to go into overtime with your defense tired and struggling.

I think going for OT is the right call there. LSU's red zone defense was shutting down FSU. LSU offense was finally clicking.

I had that thought when I first saw Kelly put up one finger.

I know the numbers don’t support it, and hindsight is 20/20, but that felt like a Murphys Law game the whole time. Sometimes you just have to feel it and throw common sense aside.

Hindsight is 20/20. If he went for 2 and didn’t get it everybody would be roasting him. In reality, an extra point in college football is the easiest way you can possibly score.

Seemed like guys on our field goal unit were extremely unprepared though. That’s on the coaching staff.

Rule of thumb: home team-go for tie on the road-go for win

Special teams and the exchange from center broke down all night long. There were at least two horrific snaps, one previously blocked FG. The last thing to do is trust the Special Teams.

They could not have stopped Daniels on a naked bootleg.

I don't think so. I think fans would appreciate a coach trying to win.

We were worn out on defense, and Daniels running was our only offense. Just let him run it and and go home with the win.

Because you don’t imagine a world where you can’t make that XP as a coach

or they would complain about how the play call was stupid and uncreative.

This is more likely.

1) An XP is automatic (but now we’ve learned it isn’t if your ST coach is Brian Polian)

2) Defense had been doing well with their backs against the wall which favored us in OT situations

If JD rolls out right with fun or throw, fsu would have been in shock because they never saw it during the game.
Our qb is ALWAYS in the same spot on every pass play. D always knows exactly where to rush.
Mind boggling oversight by coaches
