Good point. I doubt anything major goes wrong if Shortess started. It might be a good way to fire up the crowd.

Maravich was a prick who didn't show up the last month of the season and then wanted to play on senior night.
Shortess is, from all accounts, a hard working member of the team who was thought of enough to be awarded a scholarship. Apples to oranges.
That being said, it would be cool but I think getting him in with 2 min left when we are hopefully up by a ton would be great. Either way Shortess doesn't strike me as a guy who would care as long as the team got the W.

Giving him 2 minutes or so before the first dead ball isn't changing the outcome of this game.

Start him, he drives down the court and drains a 3! The crowd would go absolutely nuts.
