I hope CFB 25 isn't accurate to LSU Football IRL. Because in game they have a few bright spots but a lot more issues.

I just finished my first season on Varsity. Won the natty vs Oregon. Lost 2 games overall.

Like others have said, Mason Taylor is your best friend. He gets open and catches everything. Lacy as well. The other receivers are super fast.

Nuss has a cannon. I tend to run the ball much more than passing. Threw too many picks, and the running game worked very well with Kaleb/Josh rotating in and out.

Secondary is awful. Switched my scheme to a 4-2-5 which helped some. D-Line is ok. Almost never blitzed as it would usually give up a huge play.

It was easier to play the game back in 2014.

Lol Yep. Everytime i blitzed, they scored a touchdown. They would go into no huddle and just wear me out. Lol i'm to old to get mad at a nintendo game.

This was by far my biggest pet peeve/complaint back when I played those games. Certain playcalls were inherently better than others regardless of situation.

Good to hear. Might actually pick it up after 15ish years.

The majority of reviews are going to be based on the skill level of the player, not necessarily LSU. Defense is pretty damn hard. Passing is really difficult if you don't have much football knowledge. Kicking is difficult as well.

NCAA 14 is way too old to compare it to and it doesn't play like Madden. Very fun and challenging.

Kicking was impossible at first, but I realized you just don't let it get to red as it loses its accuracy at that point.

You gotta be careful when passing. Some old games you could throw into double coverage and be fine. Here, you're asking for a pick.

I found it helped to be a little unpredictable on offense as the AI defense would usually run what the typical team would do in that down and distance.

In Dynasty year 1 with LSU on Heisman level. So far my results

USC 39-38 OT W
FCS Southeast 52-45 OT W (was fricking around at end)
South Carolina 34-30 W
UCLA 42-38 W
South Alabama 24-14 W
Ole Miss 49-36 L (Can't stop the hurry up offenses, also threw 4 INTS)
Arky 38-21 W

6-1 ranked 8th

I *hate* the band wears purple uniforms. And there's no pregame at all. (Nor Neck, that I've heard.) It's also a little annoying I have to manually set the white unis on the road. All they did was swap home and away.

They'll patch this.

I also don't understand why we have a sideline cannon now.

We've always (At least for some years) had a sideline cannon when the team runs out.

Also not quite sure the AI is doing a great job on the rankings and CFP teams. Was odd to see Texas State get in.

They patched this yesterday.

Took a bit to get used to recruiting. Seems like a LOT of polish needs to happen there - too limiting, verbal commits seem to be locks (hahaha), nothing about NIL (not that I *want* NIL to be in the game...)

They said they weren't going heavy on NIL for this one because there was literally pending legislation while they were creating the game and there's so many moving parts. Likely going to be more of a feature in 26.

Defense is tough. You can't just pick a play and use that play against the AI every time or it will absolutely work you. You have to actually disguise your defenses which is honestly pretty fun. I'll drop 8 into coverage but show blitz and the AI will max protect, keep the RB in, and have a slot guy as hot and it fricks them up. Conversely I'll show cushioned cover 2 but bring the house and the AI will think I'm in cover and I can chase the quarterback out of the pocket.

I'm pretty confident that as we get closer to kick off, a lot of the buggier portions of the game will be patched and/or addressed in some form or fashion.

ETA re: LSU - Jelani Watkins can fly. Caden Durham is almost a 90 overall as a sophomore for me. Probably because I put him as RB2 and KR as a freshman. Has burners and is so fun to use. Shelton Sampson jumped to like an 89 overall his junior year. CJ Daniels is my WR1 and as others have said, Mason Taylor is incredible. I moved Perk off the edge and into the middle and he's much more impactful there on higher difficulties. Korey Foreman transferred in after a year

I had this issue. I traded in my day one ps5 for the new slim. Got a refund for the preorder deluxe digital edition and purchased the standard from Costco. Worked!

*pro member at GameStop I didn’t pay anything for the new system after the trade bonuses.

Javien Toviano Is actually very good in the game.

DJ Chester is an excellent center.

As others have said, Smith is awesome as TE, Williams and Jackson are both great at HB.

Harold Perkins won the Heisman on my first playthrough on All American difficulty.

I get the feeling the creators arnt big LSU fans. I started a Dynasty as an OC at Tulane and LSU has been in the bottom 4 of the SEC every year. Kelly was fired after the second year and the new coach isn’t doing great. Was able to snag a good deal of LSU players in the transfer portal though.

One day they will offer my the gig so I can restore order, just kicking off year 5 now.

Cade Durham is a special player. I housed two kick off returns with him in the first 3 games. Our defense sort of sucks except the linebackers. As posters mentioned Kaleb Jackson is a baller.

Recruiting trail is competitive but most of the Louisiana boys want to stay home as long as you recruit them and push for them.

The recruiting isn’t realistic to today’s game but I understand they can’t make it too complicated. It just doesn’t make sense that you can have players scheduled for a visit and they commit to another school and lock you out completely. Everyone knows that’s not the real world

Perkins is a beast. My son loves him on '25.
