I bought ticket reserves before 2007 and 2011 seasons and was able to purchase BCS NC tickets for face value after each of those seasons. A couple years later they went bankrupt and faced a class action suit. (I had relatives that lost money in the deal.) Is there a similar (legitimate) website that does that now?

I believe the CFP themselves.

CFP does it themselves, but LSU reserve is around $1000 before the minimum $425 face value ticket

So do you get the $1000 back? What about for the first playoff game. Can someone explain it further?

LOL no. Owning a reserve gives you the right to purchase at face value if we make it.

Reserves start out at as round $50 st the beginning of the year and the market dictates the price throughout the season

No you pay the $1000 for the right to purchase tickets at face value. Wether your team goes or not, you do not get your reservation back. If your team does go, you then purchase tickets at face value.

Wow. So a grand to *maybe* buy tickets, and then you still have to shell out $400 on top of you get them?

frick that lol

It's low at the beginning of the season. That's when it makes sense to buy them. LSU started out at $40. In 07 LSU dropped to $5 after the Arkansas loss. Wish I would have purchased them.

CFP RSVP

Link to website. It’s 480 to reserve the right to face value tickets. Like someone else said I locked down 4 at the beginning of the season at $50 a piece. Glad I made that bet now as the odds look good

Well you’re not supposed to buy it once it’s a near certainty a team will make it

I bought 2 at $5 - $15 total with service charge. That was after we lost when OSU was losing.

Lsumatt had all these things that had to happen listed — man I should have bought 8 more but my husband told me not to jinx us.

Dumb question, but how are these companies able to get all of these tickets to be able to make sure they have enough for everyone who pays the reserve?

They only sell a certain number of reserves. Once those are sold out, the people who own the reserves can sell what they own for whatever price they want.

In 2007 I bought and sold all year and at the end I had 40 of every team that had any chance of making it. Kept 10 sold the rest and made about 12k net. What an epic trip to Nola that was with 3 of my best friends. We stayed at the old W and arrived 3 days before the game, took me a month to recover.
