I had a chance to watch Southeastern practice special teams this week. They’re going to try an rugby punt to keep the ball away from LSU’s return unit. SELU’s punter isn’t bad, but watching him try and rugby punt was hilarious. Get ready for some shanks.

I’ve stuck up for our kicking unit this past week. I just hope no one quotes me on my past posts.

It’ll be laughable.

How does your punter feel about potentially being Tigerbaited?

I don’t know him personally. He’s a kid from Loranger. I’d imagine he’ll probably be rattled in TS, though.

You know that whole squad is praying not to get killed.
This game just feels cruel and unusual.

I agree. Money talks, though. Coach Scelfo and CEO go way back. I hope they have a gentleman’s agreement.

I don’t know about that. I would think they would look forward playing a big school

Those kids aren't scared man, they are still good athletes. I'm sure they are amped about the opportunity and are ready to hit just like any football player would be. That won't change the outcome but they aren't scared.

It's not cruel. These types of games help finance the smaller school's athletic budget. Kind of like Troy last year.

I went through all of elementary, jr high, and high school with his dad. Good kid. He’s a good punter normally. Don’t know about the rugby style though. He might not do well with that, but I can guarantee he won’t be scared to play.

Most of slu kids are local guys. Playing in tiger stadium is probably a huge moment in their lives and rightfully so.

I also went to school with his dad. Heard the kid has a good leg. I’m guessing they don’t want him to out kick his coverage.

after all of the ridicule of a fellow in-state team, why do we wonder when LA kids do not like LSU.

they may not be at the level of LSU, but their football is as important to them as ours.

This. They are still scholarship football players, some of which left larger schools. It'll still be a blowout but they won't be scared lol

If Ivey Wall is the kid your talking about, he was one of the best punters in the country coming out of high school and it was a huge shock to the kicking world that he went to SLU.

What year did you graduate? I graduated in 95. Since that was such a small school then, I'm sure we know each other.

Why? It's not like we have done anything impressive in punt returns?
