Nope. He’s one you absorb growing pains with. He’s squaring the ball up way too well. You let him grow there

The whole infield has been a liability so far. Even Hughes, whose upside is defense, played poorly in the field. They’ll work that out, hopefully.

On his last error he let the ball get too deep and could have extended his glove out front to snag the ball.

Aside from the op the most downvoted post in this thread is the one saying you need to leave Doughty in. The most upvoted post is one calling Mainieri a clown for taking him out

Doughty was a HS shortstop

Paul made him play 3 positions this spring then expects him to just be able to play 2B without any hiccups?

Cmon. Not everyone is DJ Lemahieu. There is a learning curve.

Doughty his hitting the snot out the ball. Albeit right at people. But he’s showing to be one of the 4 best hitters on the team

Dugas meanwhile strikes out 53% of his at bats. Woohooo

Dude, he spent the vast majority of his time at 2B. You don't want to go down this rabbit hole again.

Doughty will get tons and tons of opportunities this year. If he's getting in his own way today, let him get his shite together and figure shite out from the bench. Marceaux is throwing a gem, and we can't afford to piss away easy outs.

He played 6 of 10 spring games at 2B. That isn’t the vast majority.

These games are meant to get his shite together. Isn’t that what PM apologists like you tell us?

It was told to me that scouts have him pegged as an OFer, CFer perhaps.

PM has already said he’s not a SS. He’s struggling at second.

He was played all over the infield in the summer, fall, and preseason to figure out where he would hurt the least. He’s probably going to be deichman with better bat skills and a little less power
