TEAM/OPPENENT DIV 1 RUSHING RANK
Boise ST 53
South Cackalacky 25
Ole Piss 84
Misses State 40
Tenn 116
Vandy 42
Florida 73
New Mexican State 89
Auburned 35
UKanDoit 88
GTech 3 (against that stout ACC)

LSU 17

Just don't really see amazing stuff here to justify putting UGA's run D on a pedestal. Decent maybe but nothing I'd be bragging about. GT plays a lot of crap schools with that high school offense.

LSU 43
UGA 13

look...i like you guys and pull for the tigahz all season until now...it is kinda sad that most here think that LSU is just going to murder this UGA team...i don't see it happening..i have watched alot of LSU this year and alot of UGA...unbiased opinion is:

its gonna be a good game..not a blowout...LSU should win...but anything can happen...i dont think we will run the ball very well..but i dont think LSU does either...200 yards?...cmon...this is the SECCG...we arent ole miss...thats an absurd homeristic opinion if i have ever seen one...

the honey badger needs to have a big game as well imo...

you've watched UGA play mediocre competition all yr while LSU has dominated teams as good or better than anyone on your schedule

There's a better chance of LSU dominating than of UGA keeping it w/in 10 at the end of 4

I know, Ga Tech is a running team, but, you gotta figure that GA spent alot of time leading up to that game to prepare for the triple option.

And still gave up 240+ yards rushing, I believe. They faced two decent running attacks and got gashed by both. They are in for a rude awakening, just like the first twelve oppponents.

No one is trying to insult anyone and it's not being homeristic to predict a 40 something to say 14 in this game. LSU has hung around 40 pts on every team they've played with the exception of 2. UGA has looked shaky in about every game they've played. They are in the SECCG because no one in the EAST wanted it. That whole division is down.
Murray is a bad arse, i really like him. If he takes more than 3 step drops during the game, he's in trouble.

Sure they'll be up for the game....So was just about every other team for the first half. Third quarter comes around and depth takes over. 5 RBs that can start most anywhere in DIV 1 are, ARE going to put up numbers of 150-200 yards. That 10-2 record just doesn't look impressive when you examine the entire body of work.

i think you need to go back and look at the points we have put on almost all of our opponents...even in the two losses...the UK game is the only exception...

this is why i think that LSU is held to a lower score...the 3-4...we run almost the same style of defense against the run that BAMA does...how did that work out for you guys?...yeah you got the W...but you didnt really dominate and score 40+...we have scored alot...and we truly run to pass...the LSU strength IS the run game...i give you that..but if the run is held..at least slowed down...the passing game is suspect...i like randle but dude, you guys don't throw the ball like we do...

and yes...a huge key to the game is protecting AM...but I think Ben Jones has been playing for this game his entire time at UGA and is ready to lead the BIGGEST O line in the SEC...

i think UGA has a good chance at staying in this one and keeping it close...just my opinion...

I know you do. I felt the same way about LSU's chances when they played Miami in the 90's. When the games were over, and we had lost by 30 I was still scratching my head saying it didn't look as bad as the score. Good for you for believing in your team. They are going to get blown out this weekend, though.

South Carolina also had a 6O-something yard rush on a fake punt in that game. Take that away and UGA did a decent job of stopping them.

Why would you take away that? Why would you take away anything? Every snap counts. That the fake punt worked illuminates a weakness in their team. Not only does Miles have a great record of fakes and trick plays, he also has a great record against other teams' tricks - just ask Bama.

We gave up 200 to SC and one was a 70 yard fake punt, so 130 essentially.

Vandy's QB was new to us and we didn't have much film so he scrambled for probably 60+ yards against us.

Ga Tech is Ga Tech. You guys keep saying all this garbage about how our Run Defense is overrated, but you didn't look at how they got the runs. You're a true running team and you have extremely deep talented RB's. We will see what happens, but judging our defense based on a game that was so early in the season is short sighted.

It should be relatively low-scoring simply because both teams like to run it. That burns up clock.

Look at the scores between common opponents. You had to fight to beat an anemic FL team on a neutral site.
You played Kentucky at home, just like we did. Look at that score.

Vanderbilt hung 28 on you.

Compare those common opponent scores. I'm not hating on Georgia at all, I always respect them. Personally, I hate it when we play y'all but this is a different LSU team, as is it's a different Georgia team.

I'm just pointing out some facts, not opinions.

There are 6 common opponents with UGA and LSU (Ole Miss, Miss St, Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, & Florida).

Over those 6 games, UGA gave up 9 fewer first downs (68 to 77).
UGA gave up 9 more total yards (1252 to 1243).
UGA gave up 484 more passing yards (1127 to 643).
UGA gave up 460 fewer rushing yards (122 to 582).
UGA had a MUCH better opponents 3rd down conversion ratio (23.17% to 32.05%) or (19 out of 82 versus 25 out of 78).
UGA created 2 more turnovers (14 to 12)
UGA had the ball a WHOPPING 16:57 more in time of possession.
UGA held the opponents to 1 fewer rushing TD (1 versus 2)
UGA hed the opponents to a MUCH lower rushing per attempt average (0.8 versus 2.77)
UGA gave up 2 more passing TDs than LSU (4 versus 2).
UGA had 7 more sacks (28 versus 21).
UGA had 1 fewer INT (7 versus 8).

Despite UGA's massive advantage against the run game, UGA was also very close to LSU in the opposing QB efficiency rating.
Against Ole Miss (52.37 for LSU and 79.39 for UGA).
Against Miss St (91.38 for LSU and 85.43 for UGA).
Against Auburn (106.35 for LSU and 110.41 for UGA).
Against Kentucky (63.38 for LSU and 81.19 for UGA).
Against Florida (104.38 for LSU and 105.53 for UGA).
Against Tennessee (63.76 for LSU and 115.90 for UGA).

These are some stats i found on another site. I personally think that it will be a close game with the score being 21 17 LSU victory, but here are some stats versus comparable opponents.

Did you notice the common teams records to date?

Ole Miss couldn't fight their way out of a bag. Moo St hit the skids early in the season. Auburn, don't even know how they hung on to a rank. Kentucky is Kentucky. Florida is a shadow of what they used to be. And TN likewise. TN lost to Kentucky!

Georgia only scored 1, 1 TD against Kentucky. Y'all should've tore them up.

We started a walk on at RB and still controlled the game to ensure victory. Not a pretty victory, but a victory all the same. O and those walk on RB's fumbled the ball 2-3 times when we were knocking on the endzone

It was Kentucky. Kentucky! The freaking doormat of the SEC. Georgia couldn't tear them at home?

You're reaching with your excuses. Those same walk ons played against Boise? Vanderbilt?
