This is clearly what this was about. Just another idiot with his “hot takes” which is what you get these days rather than actual analysis.

Justin Jefferson: breaking records and if he keeps his current trajectory he is a first ballot HOFer and a top 3 all time WR.

Pickens: has never played a game in the NFL.

Now let the NFL GM's Answer who is better and i'm guessing close to 100% would say jefferson. The one being the steelers GM.

I don’t know if you’ve seen them both play football, but Pickens looks every bit the freak talent/headcase that everyone from HS through the NFL has appraised him to be. Yes, Jefferson had a monster combine that caught us all off guard. But he can’t ragdoll DBs and rip down one handed contortionist catches (yes, even considering his Buffalo catch this year) with the same consistency Pickens has been doing it since HS.

Some of that is pace of physical development. Jefferson continued filling out in college and left as an elite physical WR specimen, whereas Pickens peaked at a higher percentile in high school but didn’t develop much further and was surpassed. But measurables aside, Pickens still plays like more of a freak talent whereas Jefferson plays like more of a savant (a talent in its own right, but an intangible one), which is exactly how RC elaborated the point.

If RC tweeted this thread title, then sure, we can say he’s stirring shite up. But he didn’t do that; he immediately fleshed out a reasonable point of view.

We can disagree about an opinion without being rattled.

I would love to hear how Pickens is "much more" talented than Jefferson. How is he measuring talent? Did he mean measurables? Looks like someone may have posted their combine stats in this thread and Jefferson may have even outshined him in some of those drills as well?

I understand he is likely being a homer talking up a Steeler and this was probably more about Pickens than dismissing Jefferson. However, it can still be a tad disrespectful towards Jefferson. I mean the guy is the best wide receiver in the NFL and he makes insane catches on the regular.

Being more talented doesn’t mean being better. From a physical standpoint, Pickens is probably more gifted, but Jefferson is better.

Pickens is a freak of nature. He had one of the better freshman seasons in the SEC in quite some time, but was never healthy for a full season after that. Pickens also has a chance to be special.
