Does anyone know how I could get the name of the doctor that helped Gavin? I have a son at LSU now that should see an eye specialist soon. He doesn’t come home enough (West Virginia) and when he does the specialist he was seeing in Virginia has limited availability.

I’d like to get him someone near Baton Rouge, and clearly this doctor is good.

Thanks in advance. He’s Louie at The Chimes if you ever go for a meal. He works all the time.

Most eye doctors have year long waits just to get an appointment unless an emergency

Lots of respect for Louie working all the time. A LSU degree with a strong work ethic will take him far in life.

Eye Medical Center at OLOL has some really good doctors. Don't know if Dr. Afeman is still practicing but Dr. Haik is good as is Dr. Woo.

Some of the best eye doctors in the world. My FIL saw Dr. Philip Ehrlich and he is top notch!!!

Eye Medical has a solid group, that includes specialists if need be. As others mentioned, they are in the building attached to OLOL.

I see a retina specialist with this group & absolutely agree with the recommendations; I see Dr. Hatch. If you make an appointment, you may want to specify ophthalmologist vs optometrist if you have specific concerns.

No, but Louie’s brother also works at The Chimes.

Thanks all of the recommendations.

There are different types of eye specialists, if I know what condition your son has I can recommend specific doctors for his condition

Send him to Williamson Eye Center. Got my LASIK done there and all other eye things before that.

Macular degeneration and even though you can’t tell by looking at him, he only uses one eye.

Macular degeneration

I'd recommend

Dr Burnham at Louisiana Retina
Dr Janot at VRI
Dr Jimenez at Retina & Vitreous

All 3 are great doctors and young so they'll be able to watch your son for as long as he is in BR. I'd also recommend getting records from his previous doctors so he might be able to skip some of the testing that doesn't need to be repeated

Thanks for the info and I’ll work on getting those records.
