Garza needs lessons

Garza would do a lot for his career if he took some lessons from FSU catcher, Nelson. It was day and night. He is a mess to look at! For Pete's sake at least, give your pitchers a target on every throw! That's basic coaches!
I admit, I am seeing a lot of catchers stretch their legs out wide or smashed down with angles that can only get them hurt or a PassBall. I saw a catcher with his throwing arm out front ready to get broken by a tipped ball!
Yet, there is a way for a catcher to be in a primary stance that can truely help them get to an unpredictable ball. Yet, every good catcher knows to rush their glove out in front of the balls' path, as to be waiting for the ball to come to thier glove. If he had done that, in this game, FSU would not have taken 2nd base and then scored on the next hit! And LSU would still be playing.
Hope about understanding balls that hit the ground after the plate the catcher turns his glove facing down over the in coming ball and you will catch it instead of chasing it. Or in front of the plate a catcher does another stance and tactic to catch it!
I hope he, at the very least, checks out YouTube for DIY catcher's help.
Garza does have a ton of raw talent! Maybe one of his coaches can review the game and compare the two of them and convert the talent into his advantage!

I can't believe this post. You can be unaware when it comes to baseball, and that's okay. It really is. But when you jump on a player for no reason at all, you need to just shut your mouth. You just don't understand at all.

You posted that Garza should watch YouTube for help.

You do realize at the end of the game, that runner was in scoring position because of Garza, right?
Garza's lack of situational awareness cost us 3 runs last night.

Garza also threw out a runner or was it 2.

What a fricking dumbass.
You know how I know you haven't watched a baseball game since you were 12?

Yeah he threw out a guy that was going on a hit and run and didn't even slide.
Yeah nice throw.
He also allowed 2 balls to get pass him that put a runner in scoring position that came around to score.

Sorry for the delayed response. I wasn't jumping on the player. I am thinking of helping his future. He could see what I am suggesting he check out what I was saying via going on YouTube to see how the pros are saying about catching. I WAS a catcher and I do know what I am saying. I don't need to shut my mouth just because someone doesn't see what I am doing. Besides Garza can take what he wants and leave the rest. As far as I am concern so can you.

Sorry for my delayed response. Yes, I knew it however what was done was done. I was really just talking about what he could pick up to better his talents. What he has accomplish so far has been truely remarkable. So my suggestions were to help him improve for his next season.

Whether y’all like the delivery or not, it’s hard to disagree with OP.

Pitchers at all levels of baseball do this all the time to help them develop new pitches. It's been documented.
I don't know what there is out there for catchers, but I imagine it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world for him to watch some video on how other guys handle the position. By no means should it be the only thing, or replace coaching, but it can be a damn good supplement.

quote:Garza was a very poor defensive catcher. The obvious was his lack of focus that caused passed balls in big situations. Also, he is pretty terrible at receiving a pitch which costs our pitchers

I didnt think this was really debatable

Thanks for bumping your already shitty thread from over 2 weeks ago.
That seems to be a thing here now.
Garza seemed to have improved as the season went on and was actually a definite positive in the regionals.
