you can't win with a bad quarterback

But what did they win? For ex: JPW didn't win anything, did he?

It is a different league than it was then.

The SEC is very different than when Tee Martin played. His coach found that out the hard way.

He made a comment that stuck with me for two days now..You cant win in this league without a great quarterback. I know a lot of people on here find him annoying, but i thought he was right on all night..Jefferson, is absolutely not ready for primetime...
I'd substitute maturity as a QB requirement to win in the SEC. That can come with time in the program (SR, sometimes a JR), experience at the position (SO who started as a FR), or very rarely it can be innate.

That's BS. You can't win in this league without a great running game and defense.

Matt Mauck wasn't "great." Neither was Matt Flynn. They were efficient, smart and got the ball to people to make plays. Both teams had great defenses.

Yeah, I'd say that most LSU fans tend to like the guys that quarterbacked the Tigers to a National Championship over the ones that didn't. Imagine that.......

ok you're right. Flynn was better than Russell

What really makes me laugh are the people who don't know shite about football who say Russell didn't have it between the ears in college but Flynn did

2007 had a very "ok" defense during SEC play.

He didn't say Flynn was better than Russell. He said people like those qb's who won championships, not that qb's who won championships were better.

Peyton could never beat UF, in 4 years. Not sure it's relevant but I like to throw that out there at every opportunity.

Completely Agree!

The starting QB should be the guy that has the most confidence and the one who has proven his ability to read the defense and get the ball into the hands of the play makers. We really don’t need a heisman grade QB, all we need is a smart confident QB that can get the ball to play makers with minimal mistakes.

The key should be "an experienced quarterback". I want someone to name a NFL starting QB that won a National Championship in college.

The quarterback doesn't have to be great, but they need to be efficient and experienced. Bottom line. Junior-Senior quarterbacks win in college football.

Danielson is the best in the business. And he's right about JJ. Jefferson is not as good as he was advertised.

Coaches led us to believe that he was a dynamic playmaker who just needed snaps. bullshite! He looks a minimum of another year away from being a legit playmaker, if at all. He hasn't gotten better, doesn't show leadership (or isn't being given the chance), and has been brainwashed to believe that all he has to do to win games and be a great qb is to not throw interceptions. AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!
