They can still throw it very well
They can throw. very well? jury still out. put pressure on aj and i think he folds.

It's so nice to see this. We beat bama by 10+ this year.

3. Still no receptions from the TE's. Someone made the point that LSU doesn't have TE's that can catch. Is this true? This position is too critical.
the failure to recruit/develope a threat at TE could very well cost us down the road. IMHO, nothing keeps a defense honest more than a 6'5"-250 bull with soft hands. hopefully, "it's a part of the plan."....as LM would say.

quote:the difference is this year lsu can sustain drives and won't have to rely on field position from the defense for points. that wasn't the case last year. that means the defense won't be on the field as much which gives the opponent less opportunities to score against a very, very tough defense.
Lsu has to hold teams like auburn to zeros before I'm convinced we are better than last season. Our d last year was brilliant at every position except lb where we were ok.
zeros aren't necessary. if we win every game by one point, we still win it all. that's fine with me. another feather in the cap.

We got one coming next year.

But, what was Verne's idiotic response?

Now you know why Les was so pissed at that punk arse gunner kiel for skipping out like a bitch and costing us that TE who ended up at Auburn.

With the o-line that bama has I don't think we will find out whether McCarron can handle pass rush pressure untill he gets to the pros.

This team reminds me of the JL-led squad of last year so far. Mett does look to have more upside, but we're down some from Mo and Mathieu in the secondary.

2. Points have been made about the lack of size of our WR's. Florida dominated for years without a big "possession receiver".
Hernandez isn't exactly small

I agree with danielson, totally different offensive look. been waiting four years for this and almost cried last night, finally seeing good qb play. We got a good chance to beat bama. they gonna have to fight us. I'm concerned with our LB's being able to contain bama rushing.

the truth.

I like smash mouth offenses that can out physical a team. The difference is we are not crippled in the passing game like we were with JJ.

This LSU team is only different in that it has no more JJ and a little more passing game attack in Mett but its running game is still the same. Les still likes to pound and pound opponents in ground attacks.

Clement has stone hands for sure. He dropped a bunch last year.
Clement dropped a pass or two early vs Oregon last year. There was also a practice video (this fall) of him dropping a pass (in sequence with the other TE's - pretty embarassing). But he also made a good catch and run vs UF in '10 and made a very good catch for a TD vs WVU last year.
May not have great hands but I don't think they're as bad as so many make them out to be.

Maybe a few, but not a bunch.

that dude was gonna be a TE for us as much Josh Dworacyk was. shite, less than that. was he even a TE in HS?
we got our TE last yr in DIllon Gordon, and got the other kid coming next yr. now if Les or Ensimnger would stop bbq'ing long enough to coach em up...
