I’d love it if he retired and Peyton Manning took his spot

Yeah. Just turn the TV down. What kind of football fan needs what happened explained to them?

You're actually watching replays with the sound on? Think for yourself, you don't need gary thinking for you. He's a gumper.

I also can't stand his Bama bias. However, the thing I hate most about him is he cannot pronounce Ensminger's name correctly. He says every frigging time, EmZinger

You do know you can mute the audio, don't you? Can't remember the last time I watched a sporting event with the sound up, except when I had guests over. I really don't need to be told what's going on until there is some controversy, and even then I hit the mute button pretty quick once the issue is clear.

I watched the championship game live with the audio muted. I then watched the game with audio up, and you would have thought it was a nailbiter and Clemson actually had a chance until LSU took a knee just listening to that d-bag Herbstreit. It was actually surprising to me that I could understand him with Dabo's sack in his mouth the whole game.

I like Gary, I think he gives good color commentary. I prefer Herbie and Blackledge, but Gary is good IMO.

Absolutely. I like him and liked Vern and Jim Hawthorne in the same manner. It seems there is a group of anti football analysis people on this board that are only satisfied if they can criticize.

I mean, Gary is a total goober, but I’m just thankful that Verne is finally gone.

Really like Brad Nessler and he cancels out Gary, IMO.

The incomplete pass that he tried to make out to be a good throw even though it was rushed was ridiculous. Even after he was told it was incomplete, he tried to justify his comment

Gary Danielson is the best in the business and it isn’t even close.

I swear that if he were to get a sudden nosebleed on camera, y’all would cite the color of his blood of proof of his Bama bias.

He was laying out Alabamas path to the playoffs before the clock was out in the LSU game.

I’d much rather him than Kirk. He said “Brent Venables” so much during the NC game I actually muted it.

How much of that is CBS and how much of that is Gary. It seems like people are hard on him for playing to his audience.

Agree
Like everybody else, I’ve been watching the games from this past season. In one of the early games, Danielson commented that this team was designed to be able to beat Alabama. Bingo !
He may have mentioned Alabama, but that analysis is spot on.
I was skeptical about how good we were until the Bama win. After that, I realized that we could beat anybody, including Clemson.

Gary Danielsen
Listening to him closely watching the replay now I realize that it's time for him to retire..much misanalysis..
If this is about the Bama game, you people need to get over these butthurt delusions. I've watched it at least 20 times - the time takeaway is that Gary LOVES that LSU team - particularly Joe Burrow and Clyde. He also loves Stingley (if for no other reason than his relationship with Stingley's daddy).

Just because he made a few verbal slip ups and or mildly positive remarks about Bama, it doesn't mean he is incompetent or biased.

It was a great game with a lot of awesome things to comment on - and the CBS team did a great job. (The Thaddeus replay ordeal was tricky in-the-moment. They got it wrong - but they also had incomplete information.)

Danielson all but called the Bama lineman a thug who blindsided CVJ after the Queen interception. He actually said something like "that's the cheapest shot I've seen in a long time.
