Not sure what to make of this. I think GC like most OC's fits well with certain situations/ personnel and not so well with others.

But how do you criticize GC without it reflecting on Les? If GC was that bad to begin with why did Les hire him? And why did he retain him 4 seasons if he was that bad? And if Stud is a better OC, wow - that really makes Les look bad.

Just still don't know why Les kept this guy around for so long

Crowton literally screwed up the careers of both JJ and JL, let alone the other players on offense. Most of us on the outside looking in could see this clear as day.

This season has been magical, but one has to wonder about what could have been.

I am glad Crowton is gone, believe me...but I don't' think it's cool to laugh and cut people down regardless of situation.

I doubt Les is laughing...so if we respect how Miles handles his business, why don't we as fans take a page from the Hat's way of being "Class"

I don't enjoy the fact that he was fired, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it didn't amuse me and I certainly don't feel sorry for him. If I was half as ineffective at my job as he was at his I would be fired and I wouldn't have a 7 figure severance package.

I don't get all the "poor guy" sentiments for him. Assume for a bit that Lee and Jefferson could have been much better their entire careers with a half way decent coach and he may have cost both of them millions (and for the love of God and all that is holy - just assume that is the case we don't need to debate why half the rant thinks people only like Lee b/c he is white and half the rant thinks people only like Jefferson b/c he is a "good" runner - even if they aren't he still failed them). Les showed remarkable loyalty to someone he clearly felt was incompetent and was not allowed to fire. Gary rewarded him by blaming all the offensive struggles on LSU. If the story about him walking into a team meeting with a sheet of all the times that Les over-ruled him on a play and calling Les out on it is true, he worse than just ineffective he is unprofessional. All this, and people are still saying poor guy when his severance package is more than 20x annually what the average income in America is currently.

I don't necessarily think people who are unaccountable and consistently blame others are "good" people.

While he's not the greatest coach, I've met him and got to know his family while they were here. They're good people.
