Has everyone forgotten how bad special teams was this year? What were we missing? Guys like Garnett. Backup LBs and bigger Safties who play with attitude and want to take somebody's head off. If this guy gives us 3 solid years of special teams play and gets solid field time 1 year at LB, then it's all good. Anything else is a big win.

Exactly. A bunch of reverse racist idiots on here.

He's a DE with his hand on the ground in the highlights I saw. Transitioning to LB won't happen quickly. A LB has to drop back into coverage. I didn't see him doing any backpedaling on those highlights.
That being said, the guy is relentless in pursuit and he has good ball awareness.

You fagots didn't know his name last week
His name has been mentioned here a few times before actually. Obviously, I think the lack of scholarship offers are due to the fact that he's had multiple surgeries on one part of the body. I'm pulling for him to be honest with you and hopefully we get some more studs out of that area in the future.

Well, being able to understand without the help of an interpreter of post game interviews is important.

Kid was underrated due to sitting out his junior year with an ankle injury. He had 3 surgeries on it, finally going to Dr Andrews to fix the problem. He switched to DE this year to help the team.
Getting Garnett as a preferred walk-on was an absolute steal, especially after losing Fowler. He would have a much more impressive offer list if he hadn't had to sit out his JR year.

Apparently, from his sophomore year highlights, he played LB, and very effectively! Missed junior year with injury, then put on some weight to play DE his senior season, as that is where he was needed.
He is strong as a beast (28 reps @ 225 pounds), and I think the coaching staff can help him a little if speed is an issue. Looks like a heat-seeking missile on film!
