I don't think so. Just looking for balance.

I'm excited about the possibilities with the new recruits as well. But the jury is still definitely out.

Well sure. As we've seen with this football team, who knows what's going to happen but if it's LSU it's likely bad.

How much of a difference does anyone think Calvin Godfrey would've made this season so far? Where is he anyways?

First of all, Auburn is pretty bad, there is no denying that. Any SEC team that is under .500 at the start of SEC play is just not good at all imo

Second- Anyone who blames Coach Jones or even questions his ability to coach in game at this point is not being realistic.
In my honest opinion, I am thrilled by his in-game coaching. This is the hardest fighting group of Tigers I've seen in quite a while.

Third- It is glaringly obvious that we've lost 3 games thus far due to the lack of frontcourt play. Everyone KNEW coming in to the season that LSU WILL struggle in the frontcourt all year long, especially with JOB3 in foul trouble. But Coach JJ has molded the seemingly useless Del Piero into a deceint player. Give him credit for working with what he has. Just wait for Jarell Martin and John Odoh to join JOB down low!

The last thing this team needs is fans to give up on them. I'm just worried that this season could lead to the departure of Hickey and/or JOB3 if fans lose interest.

That being said, And bring on Florida! Can't wait!

It's a very big blow. So is Odoh not being able to come in this season. Those two guys alone would provide depth and athleticism inside and make us much more formidable.

I think HUGE impact. The fast pace we play fatigues our frontcourt, and Godfrey would have given our guys valuable rest down the stretch.

ETA: Godfrey was not signed due to academic ineligablity. Last I heard he is currently working on his game, not enrolled in any schools but plans to return to LSU next semester and join the team next year. Also, he was a college roommate of Shavon Coleman and a close friend, so I have to think he would love to play with Shavon again.
***1 scholarship left for the 2013 class, if not Frazier, hopefully Godfrey

I just thought the same thing watching this game. Just watching JOB go to the bench made me scared that auburn would go on a run and they did everytime. JOB needs to keep his head on his shoulders because i feel like his fouled come one right after another. Interested to see exactly how we play against UF

This would have been a good win. Now I'm worried about SEC play, especially on the road

I think we match up pretty well with Florida. They are an athletic fast-paced team, much like us. We will need JOB to stay out of foul-trouble and win his matchup with Patric Young.
Florida is not a big team, which helps us. And their guards are fast and athletic much like ours, but they do shoot very well if left open.
I'm interested to see how Coleman fares for the remainder because of his lack of size, as he got shut down big time tonight.

Let's see. JOB had 4 fouls, Collins is out, Ludwig is a non-factor, and everyone else saw the floor

Not to mention, we went to a high post offense to try and break their zone, which was about all we could attempt as cold as we were from three, and went to the press with around 7 left. All this with CJJ saving his timeouts with the use of TV timeouts to make a late run.

Curious, what would you have done coach?

I would not have waited for the TV timeouts to start using them. Specifically when we went from 37-33 up to 39-44 down over a 3+ minute stretch.

I also would have put Del Piero back in the game.

This. we are 9-0 at home, 1-3 on the road. I'm very nervous myself. The thing that worries me the most is that if they don't find a way to win some big games, like Florida or Missouri at home, we could lose some key players. This season needs to be a stepping stone, and the players absolutely cannot lose focus.

Del Piero was exhausted, he's a liability when he's worn out.

I'll challenge that a little. Auburn had a few bad losses but 4 of Auburn's losses are DePaul, Murray State, Dayton, and Illinois. Those four are pretty common tourney teams so it's sort of understandable why Auburn's record is 7-7 to this point. Auburn might not be great but it's a little soon to call the team pretty bad.

Unfortuantely, I have no sources to link. But my brother swears he heard on Baton Rouge Radio, (Sports today with Charlie Hanagriff, Derrick Ponamski, and Jimmie Ott), that he's sitting out a year and plans to sign in the 2014 class with LSU. Reasons were not disclosed.

This was back in November, I haven't heard any news since then..

He was worn out nearly the entire 2nd half? I mean he looked winded following Stringer and Hickey trying to take on Auburn by themselves in a 10 seconds and shoot offense early in the 2nd half, but he probably had to be well rested after a while, no? When did he come out in the 2nd half, after 1-3 minutes? And that would be an excellent use of your timeouts.

With all due respect, Auburn absolutely is a bad team. LSU is not great at this point either.

I will say this, if you would have told that Sullivan would have been a non-factor in the game and Auburn still won, I'd would jumped all over you. Auburn has some other guys step in absence of their injured players.
