Timeout PJ. UNC doesn't go to Florida State until November 6th.

yea i would agree and say LSU vs Bama would be our best shot. maybe an outside shot at WV vs LSU as stated before but i doubt it even if Arkansas does lose to UGA the week before

Dammit PJ you messed me up. The thread had shifted to the LSU/West Virginia week and you hit me with a Ryan Verdugo changeup.

Of course they'll come to LSU/Alabama if both are highly ranked. That's a given.

I could maybe see them wanting to go to the Nebraska/Iowa game since next year that will be a conference game - adds a little intrigue and probably one of few chances to get over there

Keep in mind they will likely be at Alabama/Penn St two weeks before the Alabama/Arkansas game, and Gameday doesn't like repeats that close (as you saw last year, VT/Nebraska the only top 20 matchup in week 3, but they were at VT/Bama the first week; the next week VT played Miami, #9 vs #11, and they didn't want to go to that because they were hoping to do Miami/Oklahoma the next week...And of course on 10/3 they skipped LSU/UGA, the only top 20 matchup, because of their plans to do LSU/UF the following week.
They also don't like doing CBS games unless they have to (only two SEC games last year, LSU/UF - No brainer, then they wanted to cover Tebows last home game)
So if Arkansas/Bama is on CBS, I don't think they would go that, not enough attention nationally on Arkansas yet either. If LSU and WVU are both undefeated and on ESPN, I'd be shocked if gameday isn't at the game

Network coverage has nothing to do with their decision.

It does to a degree. All things being equal, they would rather do an ESPN game.

Any idea how many West Virginia fans are coming to the game in Baton Rouge?

their fans travel very well, certainly better than anyone else in the Big East. Bring a ton to bowls, had a good showing at the Final Four this past year too. Not good at estimating specific numbers though.

If they travel well then it should be a great gameday atmoshere which should help in the decison process of picking ESPN Game Day.
