Thats the key. Mitchell can score from second on any base hit. Why chance that at this part of the game? It wasnt even a double steal, Mitchell went on his own.

The 80% is not only counting stealing 3rd though.

The throw is shorter, but he also had to throw around a right-handed batter. Which he wouldn't have to do on a throw to second. Not to mention if it is a bad throw he scores.
