Shores would walk the first hitter he faced and hit the 2nd. Haven't we learned anything this year about our bullpen? We have one guy that is our closest thing to being predictable, and that is Evans.
Correct.
Aint no way i'm bringing in Shores. No way i'm bringing in Mayers unless we have 6 run lead. Those 2 guys will walk every other batter. No thanks.

Yea, he was great before that and there isnt a better realistic option

You have a lead game 1 you close it out with your best available outside of Eyanson who pitches in game 2 and gives you huge advantage to take series

2 reasons he threw over 100 pitches on Monday which was a good bit over his season high and 2 you might need him in a potential 3rd game.

Who are you going with?
Shores. Nice contrast after seeing Anderson and Game 1.

Eyanson pitched Friday and closed out Monday on shorter rest
That’s not a reason he’s not available and if you have the lead you play to win the game.
ETA A potential game 3 you may never get to is certainly not reason enough to close out a game you lead in

Not all guys are the same. It's not a given that Evans is available. I think it's likely, but it's not 100%.

I agree...as long as you feel like Evans is ready.

Nope, I start Eyanson game 2 and get to Omaha after game 2. Don’t mess around and concede a game. Put your best out there and get the job done as quick as possible.
Anderson and Eyanson has the pitching advantage over just about any team in the country except maybe Tennessees Doyle and Phillips.

Eyanson pitched almost twice as many innings as Evans over the season and threw 11 fewer on Friday than Evans did Monday. Also you had to win that game Monday and it was only a 1 run lead when Eyanson came in

No matter what happens in game one you are guaranteed at least 1 more game and before you say something about the team that wins game 1 wins the series x % of the time that’s classic confusing correlation is it’s causation. You play to win the series. Your view is short sighted. If you have this scenario in game 2 I can see bringing in Evans especially if we had lost game 1.
Also I don’t know why people are tying themselves in knots over a hypothetical

What advantage to you gain by "not messing around" and "getting the job done as quickly as possible"?
Are you worried about the pressure of having to win a game 3?

Just ask Josh...he has made himself the resident expert in baseball on here....credentials be damned.

It was a bad outing for sure for shores...but he has been clutch in the sec down the line. That said, with only six outs you bring in evans. He could still give you 5 innings in game 3 if necessary

Didn't LSU already learn this lesson the hard way at Texas series?
You bring in Evans to get the Win in Game 1.

Gtfo with cowan starting a game again. He is off three tracks and had been for some time now. I don't think you see him again in a pressure situation AND you sure as hell don't save eyasson for game 3.....jesus
