I do buy the explanation- our OL is taught to block for the RPO so they can't be too aggressive and get caught being ineligible receivers down field if Nuss decides to throw. But, since Nuss is no threat to run the defense doesn't have to defend him in the RPO so it's the worst of both worlds- The OL doesn't block aggressively and the QB doesn't run. And our OL Coach has only been teaching that.

Maybe more of an excuse than an explanation...

I’m gonna say no to Atkins…. Seems to me that we need a full/complete reboot on offensive staff.

BK will run the offense BK wants

You say that despite the fact that we have never used the offense he ran at any point in his tenure at ND.

Our “run game coordinator”? Lmao.

I wish he was running the run game. His bread and butter is using the counter in all kinds of creative ways and you could count the counters we’ve run on one hand. And most of them were in the Clemson game.

Go back watch FSUs offense in 22 and 23 and tell me he doesn’t know what he’s doing with an OL and run game.

If we haven’t already called Sam Pittman and begged him to come we’re idiots.

They also went undefeated in the 23 regular season and were a QB injury vs an FCS team from a playoff berth.

FSU had more problems than the OL last year. He was the fall guy, just like Blake Baker was at Miami in 2020. Good coaches get canned from bad teams all the time.

Pittma couldn’t walk without a cane a year ago and had a hip replacement. Can he really still teach OL technique hands-on.

And if you talk to Arkansas fans, they aren’t sold on him still having it as an OL teacher and recruiter, either.

We need to go younger and more able with this hire.

Yeah Atkins has had zero impact on the running game. I’m not saying it his fault either, because nothing has changed from last year. If atkins had his way LsU would be running counters (like you said) more often than not and I’m pretty sure he favors a man scheme. I could be wrong on the man scheme though.

TE coach and Running Game Coordinator... two areas where we are tearing it up!

How can someone already on the staff fix something if he isn't fixing it right now? What is his job on the staff if it isn't doing whatever he can to make LSU the best team it can be? I don't want to keep anyone on the existing offensive staff. None

And? They overhauled the roster and got a decent QB. You people complain about Nuss. They tried to win with DJ U in 24.

No he’s not the fricking obvious choice. If he was worth a shite he would already be involved. If he’s involved he’s trash too.

I’d recommend turning on the Cincinnati game if you want to see what an O-line that’s properly coach looks like. We gotta give Cardwell a call after this season
