You hear "X coach won with Y's players" implying coach X isn't the reason for the success.

Wonder why "X coach lost because of Y's players" as an accepted saying. Or in our case specifically the lack of players

It's a rebuild, the logical people understood that before the game. Doesn't mean in any way that a certain number of wins have to be achieved else the season is a failure

There's a TON of people hoping Kelly fails miserably.

SEC and Nationally

Use that as motivation and build a Dynasty.

That's exactly what it means. How else are you going to judge the rebuilding progress? If you follow up 6-7 with 3-9, you are in no way rebuilding, you are still regressing.

I'm not saying we go 3-9, but missing a bowl and a losing record is certainly in play.

Kelly lost with his own players, he brought the transfers in that made up much of the offense on Saturday.

The offense was so depleted that he had to bring in transfers to start immediately?

Sounds like, well, a rebuild.

It is a rebuild, no doubt about it. But, that's why OP's post doesn't make any sense. We lost and it wasn't winning or losing with another coach's players. This team is largely comprised of Kelly's people.

Bama fans used this excuse in '07 a lot when they went 7-6 and lost to ULM and Florida State...

Calling them Kelly's people is fricking dumb. It's relying heavily on transfers because what was left couldn't even fill out the 2 deep. Most of those transfers were necessary, not wished for.

"Kelly's people" will be the team that's on the field in 2023.

What's fricking dumb is insinuating they are anyone else's "players". I don't expect you to get it.

I hope CBK retires with like 5 or more natty's. Period.

But Sunday night was a bitter pill to swallow. I expected to see a well-prepared, well-coached football team.

We were anything but that. 110% on Kelly.

No, what's fricking dumb is not acknowledging that the roster was so depleted that transfers, some from 2nd rate in state programs, were needed just to field a competitive team.

The transfers being necessary fall on Orgeron's staff, not Kelly's.

And it was not the offense that lost the game. 3.3 points per possession (with 4 points left on the table by special teams) is more than enough to win.

I agree. CBK came here and there were 39 scholarship players. He had to get a team together in about 3 months. He did the best he could with transfers. "HIS" team will be the team that takes the field in 2024-2025 - those teams will be full of the players he recruited out of high school - not slim pickings from the transfer portal.

This is me - to a T

I had allowed myself to think of great things magically happening this year. That game put me back in the hopes that I live to see the fruits of a revival - I know we'll get better, just looks like a bigger job than I had thought..

True, but nobody hates LSU quite like LSU fans do

At this point, TD is a net negative for the program… sorry

He brought in JD and if he sticks with him and the team loses 5 or 6 games that’s on him and his shitty QB.

Ah. So the losses would be on Daniels alone.

Got it.

No the losses will be on Kelly since he brought in a transfer when in my opinion we had two capable QBs maybe three in Brennan, nuss, and Howard.

JD won’t be the starter next year. So if he came here to lose 6 games that’s a complete waste of a year that could have been used on developing Nuss or Howard if they decided not to go with Brennan.
