ESPN College Football uploaded a bizarre video that has a really queer take. At the start of this clip, Finebaum (who was a big fan of the BK hire in the off season) compares BK to Bryan Harsin in that he’s “about to be out and counted down” and is toast after a “bizarre” game against Mississippi State. No mention that they won the game at all

Okay, okay… Finebaum’s a troll and an idiot.

But the Freudian slip in the description is pretty funny (note LSU’s loss to Mike Leach and Mississippi State):

Nice work on the screen shot there. ESPN is going to shite on LSU's hire of BK until he wins it all. Then they will compare him to Coach O and pray for the downfall.

Corso
Welcome to the SEC, Kelly!
That comment was so ridiculously bad, they want to pounce on him for the way he left Notre Dame.

There was a segment with Matt Barrie and Finebaum from Sunday, I'll try to hunt it down and link it but it was titled something like "Has Brian Kelly been humbled at LSU?" and Barrie carries on about how Kelly acted at ND and he's got this aw shucks thing going on at LSU and Finebaum said when he met him at ND, he thought he was one of the biggest clowns he'd ever met.

To me, that segment kind of pulled the curtain back on all of the media reaction to the hire and the treatment of he and LSU since that point. There's a grudge there and they're rooting for him to fail.

ETA: here's the LINK

i really LOVE the hate we're getting... this is just another example.

I was listening to some national show last week (prior to msu) and they were discussing the ND loss and saying that ND might want BK back and one national host said "yeah, lsu fans are ready for him to be gone". Then another host who was an lsu fan kind of confusingly said "what are you talking about, lsu fans are on board"...

I hope the media keeps shitting on us adn we go into tenner 4-1 and unranked because of "perception" then roll through there adn get to bama 7-1 and somehow still unranked. I just want to never be ranked because the media hates us but also never lose... "worst 14-1 team ever".

I hope that you do. Listening to Rece Davis on gameday you can just tell he wants to crack as many family jokes as possible. Corso is too fricking old and incoherent so I don't care.

It’s weird because he thought Brian Kelly was a great hire in the off-season, and actually interviewed him. I guess he never wants to get an interview with him again.

why do you care?

Just watch the games, and ignore all media pundits. They don't know any more than anybody else.

Did they type that headline in the first half and just never bothered to update it?

Finebaum didn't say Kelly was toast. Said he was toast of the town. That is the opposite of being toast.

I’m pretty neutral on this apart from the fact that it’s so blatant in this instance that it has comedic value.

Sorry, I’m young and uncultured. In its context he sounded like he was roasting Brian Kelly.

All of this hate will be funneled into the mindset of the LSU players. As long as it persist, the players will play all out, if BK highlights the disrespect, and they should just curb stomp any opponent for 4 quarters

I listened to this Sunday...that's not the way I interpreted Finebaum's words at all. I felt like he was saying that at Notre Dame Kelly was a Class A arrogant jerk who did what he wanted. And that now he's in the SEC he's toned it down considerably.

Look, I'm no Finebaum fan, but all you hating on him: he was the only one on SEC Nation to pick LSU to win over State Sat. night...so there's that. I was surprised.
