I think the Fulton suspension is ridiculous but the comparison here doesn't really make any sense

I think his point is one situation is covering up a domestic abuse...which is against the law and the other is a tampered test which is just against NCAA rules.

I think that's his point, is the punishments dont fit the crimes.

I think we need to focus on Miami and not things we can't control i.e. Fulton and meyer.

So tOSU suspension of HC not the NCAA is comparable to a scholarship athlete 100% breaking an NCAA rule?

The rule is tampering and penalty for tampering is 2 years. Did someone force him to use the fake piss? Did he have a gun pointed at his head?

NCAA had zero to do with tOSU and Meyer.

What is your point?

One is a poster boy for NCAA football who massively affects the bottom line, one isn’t. Get over it.

What is the “crime” or broken NCAA rule for Meyer in this case?

I don’t believe it was a cover up. He just didn’t report it.

Ummmm try again. There is no law anywhere that an employer is required to report suspected domestic abuse. And no law anywhere for failing to do so.

You may me pissed but your “facts” are total BS!

No. If the abuse was against a scholarship athlete? Perhaps.

You sir are so mistaken it’s not funny.

Yes it is. Title IX is a civil rights law which requires you to report it.

You're the one who is incorrect.

quote:

The updated contract stipulates Meyer must “promptly report to Ohio State’s Title IX Coordinator for Athletics any known violations of Ohio State’s Sexual Misconduct Policy (including but not limited to sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, intimate violence and stalking) that involve any student, faculty or staff … For purposes of this Section 4.1 (e), a 'known violation' shall mean a violation or allegation of a violation of Title IX that Coach is aware of or has reasonable cause is taking place or may have taken place.”

Title IX is a federal law that applies to public educational institutions

Interestingly, because Shelley Meyer is a registered nurse and an instructor at the OSU College of Nursing, she falls under the university-wide umbrella of Title IX standards.

Ohio State will have to determine through its investigation what or if Meyer knew about his former assistant’s domestic allegations. With the added clause to his contract, not reporting if he did, in fact know, would be a violation.
