Lots of NFL teams using a fullback and qb under center. I could see this helping the running game.

Truth is, these coaches copy everything around them. College coaches have become the worst in terms of wanting to run everything out of spread/shotgun.

They could do many of their young players at RB & on the offensive line favors by running out of tight I formation or pro set packages in short yardage & goal line situations especially since most college defenses don't even prepare for such looks anymore.

A staff can also help create explosive plays between the 40s if they really want to get creative by throwing in a couple max protect, 8 step drops off heavy play action with deep post shots downfield. It doesn't have to be the basis of an offense but there's nothing wrong with still using such concepts while continuing to be mostly spread based offense.

Post of the year.

It is so frustrating growing up watching I formation With a full back.
Especially when you had the ball first and goal and you don't play power football.

I'm really surprised that coaches like Sark & Kiffin who actually broke out in the NFL first, don't implement more of these concepts in their offenses.

Would have liked to see lining up bordelon at fb how ole miss puts big boi at wildcat. Road grade. They know we're running with a dive. If being obvious, be obvious with intent

There's two aspects where I think doing so would have helped with personnel issues this year. Simplified reads for Kaleb Jackson to make his cuts based off. One read & cut based off the block of a FB probably helps him be a more productive back. He honestly seems like a one read, one cut back. Do away with the thinking aspect to where he is reacting naturally & running downhill.

Secondly, it would take away from the IOL having to block so much in "space". Let them put a hat on hat & block downhill. Those zone concepts ask lineman to block in "space" which is more technical. Something young lineman may not be ready to do & is a difficult ask. Just let them go downhill & ask them to maul the guy lined up across from them.

One of the talk shows said the reason why we don't get under center. It's because the quarterback doesn't practice playing under center and grew up playing out of the shotgun.

I call BS on that

Well, he can learn. Doesn’t seem like it would be too difficult. Also can play action off of it.

Move Harold Perkins to FB. (If he comes Back)

He played some RB in HS, so teach him to block and give him some carries out of the FB position. (More than Tommy Banks used to get too)

Lining up under center still doesn’t help if the o line can’t get push up the middle
