This is a showcase game. You showcase your program, which includes the band. Cali recruits will be coming out (unofficially) for a game like this.

I don’t want to hear that.

As much money as football generates band travel expense is drop in the bucket

The seating chart LSU sent out shows a huge section of 106 reserved for the band

I was in TGBFTL 06-08. We had full trip to auburn year 1 and full band trips to tulane and ole miss. We got to go to atlanta for sec and then nola again for bcs nc with ohio state.

Its fascinating. The week after thanksgiving- they ask to fill out an address where were you will be dec 25-jan 6. I put my brothers address in San Fran. i bought a one way ticket to san fran and they flew me back. Oakland to houston to br. And they picked me up the the airport.

So yea. One full band trip a year is pretty standard. I would just hope the band kids stay safe there in vegas on the trip

Even though we were a mess, not having any of the band in Pasadena was a huge letdown and mistake.

WHY the "Delicate Genius's" in the AD are trying to turn LSU games into an NFL game is completely and totally a mystery to many of us

This is happening at most every college football stadium in America right now. LSU isn’t special.

Love the band and everything but flying 325 people to Vegas and back, and likely having to get hotel rooms for a night in fricking Vegas of all places is straight up retarded from a money standpoint.

Other schools with much bigger bands do it. Why can't LSU?

Is that confirmed full band?

Sadly it's fake news. Only a partial band is going. This was told to me in the last couple days by a couple of people who are about as official as one could be concerning band stuff.

So, are you saying there will be zero full band trips this season, outside of post-season play?

It would suck to not have the whole band in Vegas. You know USC's entire band will be there. It's shameful what LSU has done to the once greatest band in the country.

Kickoff classics always have full bands for both schools. It would be very embarrassing if LSU has a pep band for this. We had the full band in Orlando last year for that Kickoff classic so this will be the same.

Full band should be there, and no excuses whatsoever are acceptable. They work their f—-ing asses off and deserve to be in full at every home and away period exclamation!

Didn't say that. They will make an SEC trip. Just not Vegas.

UPDATE: Talking w/ my TGBFTL wife (no pics) she says that they will send a band for Kickoff games (so CFA Kickoff, Aflac Kickoff, Camping World Kickoff, etc.) Being that this is the Vegas Kickoff Classic, we should have a full band.

Have they been practicing “they not like us”?

You can take buses to and from Orlando. That does not work for a trip to Las Vegas.

That being said, I hope the full band goes to Vegas but I seriously doubt they will unless the LV sponsors are paying for an air trip.

If so, it would likely be Arky or A&M. We won't take the full band to USCe and they haven't gone to Florida in ages.

Please remember this......Athletics is funding everything related to Tiger Band. Those funds are sent to the school of music/band department. Damon Talley (with the Dean's approval) decides HOW those funds are spent. If anyone is to blame, it's Damon Talley and the school of music!! FACT.

Here's how it works.....Athletics gives the band department/school of music ($100.00), then Damon Talley/Dean of the school of music decides to spend ($60.00).....result: the LSU School of Music then spends ($40.00) on ANYTHING they want in the School of Music (not stuff for Tiger Band). Does everyone finally get what's going on here? Athletics is powerless to do anything about it because the upper administration has "mandated" those funds go to the School of Music each year (for distribution to the "Tiger Band"). The administration knows the School of Music does NOT return unused funds back to athletics (thus padding the School of Music's budget). This results in the LSU administration allocating fewer funds to the School of Music because of the "unused" Tiger Band funds. THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO THE TIGER BAND.
