education is more important than a football game! I rather win in life than watch a team win a meaningless football game!

Push it back to Wednesday. I know, really tough to figure out. They have days they can use to make up the time.
Or just leave them on and everyone will skip. No big deal

Mon is first day of MWF classes and T is first day of T/Th classes. Most classes fall into those two categories.

Unfortunately, very very few LSU students will be at the game and that is unfortunate.

When I was in school ten years ago we would always start after MLK day.

Skip the first day. I swear some of y’all have never been on a college campus. Do you think missing the first day is going to cause you to fail the class?

Every student that got a ticket (unless they made a cool $1500) will be there. Hell a few thousand will be in NOLA.

The school made the right choice not to cancel, but I believe the professors will make the right choice and let students skip Day 1.

First day of class is Monday(M W F classes) you get a syllabus. Tuesday will be first day of (T TH) classes.

So effectively, the first day of class doesn't mean much.

I know the drill and I skipped more than my share of classes. I also know profs give the enefit of the doubt to students they like, and part of that is showing up to class. Unless my kid is cruising with a 4.0 he'd better have a damn good excuse for not being there every time the doors open, including syllabus day.

How can you say such a thing? Xiv says that there is ZERO wiggle room to miss a class this semester.

I wonder the catastrophe that will happen if the teacher gets sick one day, or has a personal emergency and misses one day this semester? Tuition will have been completely wasted.

Things tend to work out. Miss a day, don’t miss a day. It will be ok.
