Of course FSU passed on Gangsta Pear.
The basketball gods are watching intently and making sure that the University of Louisiana State University gets their karmic payback.
They're gonna make sure that WW gets the Ole Miss (If Beard leaves) or Texas job and returns to beat the hell out of ULSU.
What goes around, comes around........

quote:The CoachMc loyalists are much stranger and difficult to explain. He has a 14-40 SEC record in 3 seasons and never touched the NCAAT at LSU. He's finished the SEC 14th (14 teams), 8th (14 teams), 15th (16 teams) during his time at LSU. There is zero sign of progress and he gets out-coached in virtually every game. Yet, there are posters that ramble on with excuse after excuse, even refuting their own arguments unintentionally in an attempt to absolve him of any responsibility. It's mind numbing.
The cultest over Wade is the strangest thing I’ve ever seen in LSU sports
Wade, on the other hand, took over a program that was coming off a 2-16 SEC season and the season prior a total failure with Ben Simmons lead Tigers not even making the post-season. He proceeded to go 8-10 in the SEC and beat ULL in the NIT in a swagger type game. Then won the SEC in year 2 and made the NCAAT. His teams made NIT, NCAAT, NCAAT, NCAAT(Covid canceled), NCAAT. Gotta hate that, right?

Will Wade lost 33 total SEC games in 5 seasons. CoachMc has lost 40 in 3 seasons. Them so-called diehards want to win, big dummies.

They’re not basketball fans, they don’t watch the basketball team. Just read their posts, they have no clue what the records are, who’s won what, which players played when or for who and they have literally no idea what happened with the Wade situation here. They can’t name 5 coaches outside of the SEC, they don’t know which teams are winning in college basketball. The mcmen are not LSU basketball fans in the slightest.

It is very easy to understand. LSU is a football first and baseball second university. Most reasonable fans understand this. Knowing this, most reasonable fans don’t expect LSU to be in contention for a basketball championship or even final four every year. Most reasonable fans honestly would be very satisfied with a team that plays hard, is competitive, always in the running for a SEC championship, makes the tournament every year and wins at least the first two rounds and makes a run at sweet 16 or better once every several years. Most reasonable fans just wants a competitive team that is fun to watch. This is exactly what Will Wade brought to the table. He built basketball teams that were fun to watch and were competitive. He would have had us in the top of the SEC every year, in the tournament every year and with a chance to make a deep run every several years. He loved being here and would have been content spending his entire career here.
Makes perfect since to me and I would take that back in a heartbeat.

Well said. It really is that simple.

You John Wooden much brah?
Wooden had others being Pos's for him so he could pretend to be above it all. But he knew and was complicit. So that makes it ok I guess?

For plenty of us here, ALL of you look like fricking idiots. McMahon isn’t an SEC coach and Wade was only great judging by LSU’s mediocre hoops standards and is never coming back. The sooner all of you accept these truths and move the frick on, the better off you will be. And the more tolerable place this will be during basketball season.

It’s taken a lot longer than I expected when McMahon was hired, but it finally seems like this team is developing and building toward something. I had pretty much given up like many others, but it was too early.
From year one SEC play 1/3 of the way through this season, it looked like McMahon wasn’t making any real progress, but I have to give him and this team credit. They seem to be getting this thing heading in a better direction.
As for the team- they never fricking quit. For whatever decencies they have, they have managed to scratch and claw their way back into multiple games it looked like they were completely out of. A coach can work with a team with that kind of heart and mental toughness.
The last two games aren’t a guarantee that things will continue to progress, but there’s legitimate reason for some hope now. If McMahon can continue the better recruiting going into next season, maybe they can take a bigger step forward. A strong run to the finish and an NIT bid would be a great launching pad for this team.

I love how you went back and skipped over multiple posts since then where I’ve clearly said McMahon isn’t the guy and is destined to be fired. The team didn’t close strong last year, didn’t improve in the offseason, and regressed pretty badly.
Unlike some of you O and Wade dick suckers who obsess over coaches who are long gone and never coming back, I want the current coaches here to succeed because that is what’s best for LSU, not some stupid, childish personal agenda. I will always hope they do until they prove they can’t. McMahon proved this season that there is no hope for him here, despite a marginal improvement from year one to two.
There’s been nothing but regression in year three, and no serious program should let that go the way things are with NIL and the portal today. Penny Hardaway isn’t a great coach by any stretch, but he went out and brought in a brand new team with only one returning role player using the portal and NIL and Memphis is ranked and has the best Quad 1 record in D1 after playing one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country. They were 2-2 vs the SEC this year with wins over Mizzou and Ole Miss. Even with more NIL behind him, McMahon isn’t capable of doing this, so I would love for Woody to make a move right now, even though we all know it’s very unlikely to happen.
But keep on shilling for Wade, even though you know he’s never coming back here. Some of us prefer to not live in the past or be stuck in the present when what’s happening in the present isn’t good enough.
