One more year at LSU with similar success would increase his stock. Not to mention, he would be traveling 1st class at LSU opposed to traveling on a bus and staying in cheap hotels!

Jay also said Paxton Kling could become a player like Dylan Crews.

Could.

He has the tools he just didn’t develop. I wish he did. He still can; it comes at different times for different players.

Nothing replaces playing time which he won’t get here so both sides win. He moves on and gets playing time. We move on without him taking up space.

I think he's really pissed they're about to start moving his beloved bullpens.

JJ doing a little damage control to keep Herring.

What did he do with Herring that warrants damage control? Or are you just taking another little shot at Jay?

And his team went toe to toe with the ACC champ only losing in extras in game 3.

So was he wrong?

Yes, he was wrong. At the time he made that statement North Carolina would have probably swept a three game series with LSU.

JJ seemed a bit down and uninspired the entire time. He did not seem upbeat about anything. Something seemed out of whack...

He said in one interview that he’s still not completely over the loss.

I’ve watched every JJ interview for 3 years now. He has never been upbeat except for some of the Omaha press conferences last year

This is the year that jones and herring have leverage. Even drafted high, they lose that next year.

Has been telling him he would get a shot as a starter and didn’t do it. He’s trying to sell that to him now to keep him.

They both just finished their sophomore year. They will have leverage again after their junior seasons.

Jay also said Paxton Kling could become a player like Dylan Crews. Jay also said, while LSU was sitting at 3-12 in the SEC, that LSU would be in first place in any other conference in the country. Let’s tone down the hyperbole, please.

This. I like and support Jay 100% and Griffin is my favorite player on this team but Jay is always saying so and so is the best pitcher he’s ever had and stuff like that. Just in the past 2 years I’ve heard him say Skenes, Jump, Holman are the best pitchers he’s ever had and now Herring will be the best pitcher in LSU history if he comes back. All 4 are incredible pitchers but it’s impossible for them all to be the best he’s ever had. Skenes obviously holds that title

Jay can’t have it both ways. Lsu outbid miss state for Skenes. Now it doesn’t work out and he is upset with the state of college baseball.

Show me where he said that any of them were better than Skenes

They are far from being the #1 team in the ACC.
