As a season ticket holder since 1982, I highly encourage you to wear your colors. 99% of LSU fans will be hospitable and you will have a great time on campus.

Just confirming -- do NOT go to Ralph and Kakoos. That is all.

Gameday may come for that game if Florida beats Auburn this weekend, so if that is the case, then you will definitely want to plan to arrive early in the morning. Will be packed next weekend. Hope you enjoy Baton Rouge and have lots of fun! Like others have already said, wear your teams colors and don’t be afraid to walk up to a tailgate! People will be more than happy to feed you and keep you hydrated! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Thanks y'all! Really helpful information thus far. If any of you see someone with state gear come say hi.

Regarding timeline getting to the stadium I am hoping we can get an early start. My wife isn't as fond as the game as I am (best tailgate we've ever been to is SCAR so she doesn't know what to expect) and we are going out to Bourbon St. the night before...

Calling Chicken. We need a “Coming to Tiger Stadium for the First Time” board.

OP. Have fun. Nothing like it.

Like many have said, wear your colors. It's a conversations starter. Or more or less a bullseye for us to compete to out do one another on hospitality. Go early. See mike and enjoy pregame
Edit: I see the bourbon street night before line. Dont let it sneak you. It's happened to lots. You dont want to miss out on gameday and get their late hungover

Do yourself a favor, skip Bourbon St. And go to the bars on Frenchmen St. Also Pat O's piano bar.

Suggestions

Aster street is where the real party is at and parking is usually pretty reliable.

Also feel free to drop by my tailgate at El Cid. I'm the one with the purple and gold tailgate tent.

Edit: you guys have been very helpful. Reading all the suggestions and comments to my wife and she's getting more excited to come! Very much looking forward to it and hoping its a top 5 matchup. Hoping Burrow can keep it going. To me LSU will forever and always have Mettenberger at the helm so it will be a shock for me to see someone else at the helm haha. As a State fan, I was acquaintances with Stephen Rivers back in middle school and really thought he'd amount to something @ LSU... Sadly didn't come close to his older bro.

Wear NC State stuff. People will be way more likely to invite you in and give you a beer and a taste of whatever they're cooking.

renting a car and driving up early afternoon

You should be on campus no later than like 10 AM honestly. Earlier if gameday happens to be there.

Shoot me an email drunkencrawfishtd@gmail.com. Y’all are more than welcome to swing by our tailgate. We have a big group that’s close to the same age as y’all.

do the cops crack down on open container laws for alcohol if you're walking around from tailgate to tailgate?

Seriously, NO! They don't, unless you are an out of control drunk tearing your shirt off and pissing in the street.

The entire campus is literally FILLED with people drinking, eating, walking around.....with alcohol....As long as you are within the range of a normal person having a great time you will NOT get bothered while walking around with a beer or cup of whatever in your hand.....

LSU is a "Sanctuary Campus" on football game days for responsibly drinking your arse off.

Sorry, posting again.....I just saw this in your original post..........

BIG MISTAKE. CHANGE YOUR PLAN/TIMELINE!!!! For this game, you need to be on campus and parked by 10 AM to get the Full Monty.
