Come to baton rouge early in the morning...traffic we be awful coming out of new Orleans after 8 in the morning....it will be packed with LSU fans and florida fans that stayed in new orleans for the weekend...then once you arrive in baton rouge the traffic on I 10 will be terrible and parking will be tight...if you leave in the early afternoon you will miss the true game day experience...

Probably your best bet is either ubering or parking in the soccer fields. There will be contraflow directing you out of there though so id wait at Walkons for a bit after the game.

Louisiana is a lawless state compared to North Carolina when it comes to alcohol. I almost got tackled by a cop in Raleigh for walking out of a bar with a beer. Here it doesnt matter as long as its not glass. Im actually in my mid 20's as well and I have some buddies coming in from Raleigh that went to state as well for the game.

Feel free to email me at slimysand@yahoo.com

I dont mind a bit showing yall around.

Hey I live in Raleigh. I’ve been to a few NC state games and I promise you this will be 100x the atmosphere. Everybody is super friendly. All you have to do is walk up and talk to people. I generally go down to Louisiana for a game every year still. You will have a blast.

If you have a choice between "Bourbon Street" and fully taking in the atmosphere of a game day at Tiger Stadium for a big match, save the Bourbon Street experience for another time. Get to the campus EARLY. You will never forget it. Don't screw it up with a hangover from the night before. The atmosphere will be charged like no other venue and it will turn on every living cell of your being just being there in person.

Does gameday's presence materially affect the timeline/parking situation or tailgating areas and recommendations here? Unfortunately looking like we will be unable to leave New Orleans before 10/10:30am - so looking to get there ~12-12:30 unfortunately.

My best advice . . . get drunk, get your wife drunk, get your friends drunk, have a great time all day, then take a nap before the game. And give me your tickets. It'll be boring anyway. Best not to ruin your trip.

Gameday will add a little bit of extraness to the day, but it's really not a big deal to the majority. This game will be HUGE with or without gameday. The campus will be rocking.

Why can't you leave until after 10? You really may put yourself in a pickle as far as traffic, parking, etc. Not to mention you are missing out on fully soaking it all in.

Don't get me wrong, it'll still be great for you. But you are missing out on squeezing every bit of greatness out of the day.

I dated a girl from ncstste.

We went to three games there.

Tame.

Tiger stadium against a big 6 team is going to have you talking to your friends in Charlotte about how football in BR is just plain sick.

Sick.

Don't ruin it by staying out too late on Bourbon on Friday. Have fun and get liquored up but get hydrated and to bed at a decent hour. Get to Campus early; leave Nola no later than 9am. You can always go back to Bourbon/Nola.

Thanks for asking! We had a great time! The atmosphere was obviously electric and everyone's suggestions were very helpful to help us have an enjoyable day!

Ended up parking at Levee lot (couldn't believe it was free).

A few observations:
- most places I've been to have one or two spots but at LSU there didn't seem to be a central location - just people everywhere. Kept everything open and breathable which i liked.
- obviously the tailgates themselves were pretty badass - loved seeing all the skinned alligator.
- ended up taking off the NC state shirt and wearing the LSU underneath instead after a few negative comments (yes it was red so maybe I didn't fit in well enough for some's taste). Lack of wearing the shirt after a while probably contributed in part to the lack of food/tailgate invites as I walked through.
- beautiful campus (those trees on Daryrymple (sp?) are incredible)
- Chimes is awesome - was there for the end of the UGA game
- Thanks especially to Matt for the tailgate invite and the great food and company - it was great to meet you and you have a great spot!

Great game and awesome win. Congrats and good luck the rest of the way - Geaux Tigers!
