Do you remember Les Miles record before LSU? How about Ed. O?

Les was 28-21 at Okie state.

Bringing up Ed is not a help to your case.

Both wouldn't have gotten hired if they listened to fans.

Both won NCs

The thing is, a head coaches prior record indicates nothing IMO. BK had the best record/resume out there and look how it turned out. O had a terrible resume prior to LSU. Les Miles didn’t have an eye popping resume before LSU. A young Nick Saban had no real record to judge him off of, so he was a risk. You just never know.

Ed O fricking sucked as a HC every single year except the year he lucked into the greatest team of all time

You aren't helping prove your point

Yeah, wrong. It doesn't always predict it but its a good barometer. You have too look at a variety of factors like how hard they work, and are they an expert on one side of the ball.

Frank bombed at UTSA and the guy after him thrived. He did nothing at McNeese either.

He's a recruiter, he is not a HC.

Ed O was an unmitigated disaster that had a singular lucky run fueled by Joe Burrow turning into HIM.

Lets not pretend that was some type of great coaching hire. That was Joe Alleva being a fricking dumbass. We just tolerated it because Ogre was one of us and we had enough success initially (with Les's players) to get him through until the greatest offense of all time showed up.
After that the real O reared its head.

Frank Wilson is not even going to be considered for the position. Yall can just stop with that nonsense.

UTSA had a football program for 4 years before he took over. Kinda hard to judge that

Frank WIlson's record at UTSA, 4 years:

19-29

the 4 years after he left:

39-14

(they were 7-5 the covid year after he left, so they didn't start winning "with his guys)

Stop.

Saban would have gone 7-11 at MacNeese. Ain't many top recruits coming to FCS Ryan Street High School.

I agree, buy you could also say that he directly over a running back room that is underwhelming to say the least, possibly the worst position group at the school.

Yeah not.your typ FW RB room.. BK probably meddled and the OL wasn't up to snuff

Just for recruiting and NO connections alone FW deserves a spot on the staff, tho. Corey Raymond as well

So you really think O learned from those guys? Everything he learned was from Pete Jenkins but that's ok

It’s both and nowadays, unfortunately, you have to buy the Jimmy and Joe’s. You have got to be able to coach them once you got them though.

COVID & he just went unbeaten! I can't believe all the smart people on here who actually think Covid played no role? He didn't care and most people didn't either, not in 2020-21!

With NIL in play no teams need coaches that only bring recruiting as their biggest asset on their resume. Frank Wilson is on a good day average.

I've followed HS a lot. He had a couple good season but was accused of playing players not even in school. I believe that he did.

At LSU he's done nothing. I can't wait for him to leave.

He quite obviously has demonstrated that he doesn't know what RB to keep in the game. Holly having one carry, the first of the 2nd half, and then nothing the rest of our last game, was as much a breakdown as any other part of our team. Let him recruit...give him asst HC if that is necessary to cover the black contingent, but keep him far away from HC position.
