Coaches are getting paid more now then they were in 2015. Fact.

A title? Are we trying to land Dwight Schrute, or Frank Wilson?

Well, you can’t pay a TE coach $1mil +

He will likely need dual titles for LSU to pass it.

ie recruiting coor + position

Or asst HC + position

He will go coach in Kansas with his home boy. New Orleans does produce some of our states top talent but we are currently on a national level of recruiting where only a handful of instate guys will have a spot. Coach O doesn't need to process anyone on the coaching staff to make room for Frank. Frank left LSU for his dream of becoming a head coach knowing full and well LSU would not be a backup plan if things don't work out. He took the risk for bigger money and the title, it didn't work out, now he has to find a new home.

yep. has nothing to do with inflation. has to do with the perception of what a school MUST have. A coach is worth what someone is willing to pay.

this increase in pay has dwarfed actual inflation.

I mean he’s not wrong.

You give Brady a raise upwards of $2mil, then you have two coordinators making that much. O will prob get a raise.

They going to pay Frank $1mil at that point to recruit? That will be a tough sell

LSU is going to have to lose multiple assistants, maybe reassign Ensminger to one of those spots, cut his salary.

Keep in mind E makes $800k himself.

Tommie Robinson is at $600k. He’ll need to vacate.

Just for perspective using your numbers everyone involved combined makes less than Saban and a hair more than Jimbo.

Actually more worried he ends up at Bama, TAM or Texas. Start talking to him and cut a deal now.

You’re wrong again

quote:

The Tigers football team made a profit of about $55 million in the 2017-18 academic year

So they made a profit of 55 million after salaries in 2018.

The playoffs and donations and they’ll easily surpass those figures this year. Also Woodward stopped the academic donation.

Forbes estimates the cost impact of being anywhere from 16%-66% increase in profit for winning a national title based on previous champions (Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson and Florida State). So let’s say they have a 25% increase (13.75 million)

Realistically if they win the national title your going to have some attrition from the staff. For the sake of arguing let’s say they retain everyone and win he whole thing. Obviously all of them will receive lucrative bonuses but here’s what I would expect the numbers to do:

Ed will go from 3.5 to 7.5-8 — + 4.5 mil
Aranda gonna stay the same
Raymond will go from 460k to 600ish — + 140k
Busch will go form 375 to around 425 — +50k
Meatball isn’t getting a raise, he’ll get a bonus though

Mickey Joesph goes from 225 to 350ish — +125k
Greg Mchmahon from 375 to 450-500ish — +125k
James Cregg is at 475 I bet he goes to 600 — + 125k
Tommy Robinson is at 600 maybe gets a small bump
Joe Brady will go for, 450k to 2 mil — + 1.5 mil
Einsminger will go from 800k to a mil — + 200k

So about 6,765,000 in increases. So we would need about a 12% increase in profit to bridge that gap.

Money won’t be an issue. You can only have 10 assistants and the most Feak would make would be around 700k.

Read the post again, slower this time and if you still can’t understand the basic reasoning I’ll try to use some pictures for you.

Here’s the basics of it though. We easily can afford Frank Wilson, including the current star receiving raises.

If Orgeron keeps it up, you almost can’t overpay him and his staff. I said the same about Saban. The football program is a license to print money. It’s huge from an enrollment, donor, local/state economy.

We can afford anything. Sales of officially licensed LSU stuff will top one billion dollars in 2020.

Again, I made a detailed post. Tell me specifically what is wrong.

Or not, and just continue to embarrass yourself.

LSU will have attrition. 4-5 assistants contracts are up. LSU can indeed afford Wilson, as my post said. Somethings will have to happen. He needs a spot. He needs dual titles. LSU will have to outbid other schools. Lol at $700k

Are you serious?

We could pay him 60 million dollars if we wanted to. But Frank Wilson’s going rate is going to be around 700k. Is that really that hard for you to understand.

Let me go slower

Let’s say you had a lemonade stand and you made 6 dollars and you wanted a newer lemon squeezer to make more and better lemonade. The squeezer cost 7 cents and would result in more money down the line. You can pay 6 dollars for it but it would be unnecessary. You got it now little fella?

The issue is not affordability. They can afford to pay the staff almost anything. It’s getting him and paying him (or any coach) within the current structure. They have to make sure they don’t upset the apple cart and piss off any current coaches.

I’m sure Woodward and O can handle that .

Yeah after a national title season the board would tell Ed Orgeron and Scott Woodwsrd no on Frank Wilson.

They could call him the fricking water boy and pay him a million.

Frank Wilson made $660k five frickin years ago as recruiting coordinator at LSU

Now he’s been a college HC and you think he isn’t in line for a raise. Haha

No, they couldn’t. Or they would spend recklessly every year on it. There’s clearly a budget.

So again, tell me specifically what you disagree with. Come on, don’t be scared lil guy. Not now
