The SEC being biased towards their crown jewel, Alabama, has existed waaaaay before Nick Saban got there.

This is truly why any hardcore LSU fan hates Alabama. Nick Saban being there is really just kind of icing on the cake. That bias comes from the Bear Bryant days. This is why I fricking hate when some younger person makes the statement, "you just hate them because they stole your coach". No junior, the hatred existed before you were born.

I can remember my dad telling me about this in the early 80's when I was a little kid.

I'm just glad to see that we have finally had enough and decided to be extremely squeaky wheels. I just wish some other fanbases besides Auburn and Tennessee would join in on the action. Because as of now, it just like looks like disgruntled rivals crying about it as opposed to what it really is - a huge flaw in the most successful and dynamic football conference in college football.

Good luck! I hope they give you the opportunity. Your post on page 3 was phenomenal.

I appreciate that, and this was just some message board nonsense about 1 game of SEC officiating, theres still all the recruiting stuff with bama to talk about, theres our BCS game, theres sabans very long history with this, etc. anything about bamas cheating would have to be a series, at least 5 parts.

I love it. The more the media talk about this the more likely that this next game is officiated at least somewhat fairly.

I think there is some merit to this. In 1996 when FSU and Florida played in Tallahassee in the season finale FSU teed off on Danny Wuerffel relentlessly, and came out on top. Well Spurrier griped about it endlessly in the lead up to their rematch in the Dome for the NC and that game was called much tighter.

Check out the play that 'Bama scored in the championship game last year. The back flanked to left was clearly in motion; just as in this image, the refs were so close he could have spit on him.

Actually, it's very very false. Alabama ranks close to dead last every year in opponent penalties.

2017 - 130 out of 130 teams
2016 - 128 of 128
2015 - 102 of 128
2014 - 123 of 128
2013 - 89 of 125
2012 - 108 of 124
2011 - 117 of 120

You can put your tin foil hats up.

1. your numbers are off on almost every single one of these. in 2015 you were not number 102 for example, you were number 71. in 2013 you werent number 89, you were number 62.

2. how many are called is a fraction of it, its more about what gets called and when, but mostly its about what youre allowed to get away with it and what they do to help.

Refs aren't stupid. They cover their tracks. Most calls against Alabama are to pad the stats; they come at non-critical times.

I agree. It'll likely be 10 to 15 years from now, when it doesn't matter to anyone currently involved.

The really sad part in ALL of this, is that Emmert and Saban brought this LSU program back to prominence, building a championship caliber program with facilities' upgrades, new building, academic center for athletes and what-have-you.

We should be grateful for this.
But, then, they proceed from here and into what the SEC is now, reinforcing decades of SEC "tradition" with regards to the University of AlaBama and ensuring that they succeed at the highest level. The sad reality of all of this is that a Nick Saban-led AlaBama program needs NO HELP from the SEC headquarters to be successful.

Just let the kids play. But no.

Saban is great and they have huge talent, but it can't be denied that these were some key moments in the "dynasty."

I've said several times over the past couple of years that even with Saban being one of the best coaches in college football history, he's had more than his fair share of "lucky breaks" go his way to win some of his NC's.

All the questionable calls that posters are pointing out in this thread and the fact that they got the nod over a Oklahoma State team in 2011 who had the same record as Bama before the bowl season started, had a better SOS rating than Bama and actually won their conference, show this to be true in my opinion.

You know, this wasn't "the media" talking about it, right?

Or did the fact that this article appearing on "Fox Sports" not have an author named, not register with you?

Had you bothered to click on the button at the end where it says "This article originally appeared on ...",

...you would have been taken to this:

DeathValleyVoice.com

"Death Valley Voice". Like the national media actually believes this bias is a thing.

Just because this LSU fan kid writes it in a blog.

I said this in another thread where you posted damn near the exact same thing, but this is a great post. Thanks for putting in the time and effort to compile all this info. Excellent job.

There was somewhere around 5 or 6 very questionable call during the LSU/Bama game in 2009 that were mind boggling. If I remember correctly, the questionable calls started out on LSU's first drive where Jefferson scrambled for a first down around the 30 yard line, got shoved abck a few yards and the refs blew the whistle. Forward progress was stopped past the first down marker, but the refs spotted the ball a couple of yards back, where the ref stopped play. The game couldn't have been more than 3 minutes or so into the game.

Those boys (officials) decided early on that the horseshite calls where gonna start early and were gonna continue on the entire game.

So y'all are putting stock in the guy who said this on his same blog:

"As the LSU Tigers lost to Florida and struggled in just about every facet of the game Saturday against the Gators, one thing became crystal clear: Ed Orgeron will not be named the permanent head coach of this team."
