Are you being entertained by players during the national anthem?

anything associated with the game is part of the event. I don't want ANY political/social statements - even those I completely agree with.

By your logic, during every timeout, somebody could come on the PA system and give a political speech, since I'm not being "entertained" during timeouts.

How much do the players get paid to stand for the national anthem?

I am pretty sure they paid to play the game, maybe required to make media appearances but they aren’t dancing monkeys.

If the NFL allows their conduct they can do whatever they want and this is allowed.

Agree with t or not, just don’t get on your high horse about them being paid to entertain you.

There are better ways to make a statement...why not just help out in your community...you make millions...but you could cost yourself millions....JUST ASK ERIC REID

NFL players have been doing things in their community for decades. A lot of these player do things in their community.

And you don’t really know that, so how is that even a statement?

regardless what his motivations were, i think you need to give him more respect. you imply if he has a different opinion than you, he is ignorant.

So Trump is apart of the Liberal media now?

Leonard, once you decide to make a statement, you may want to get in to it. That is kind of the point. The inability of folks to ‘get in to it’ is making their actions look weak and silly

Most people who have a problem with athletes kneeling (protesting) have no idea what the protests are about, and don't care. Why waste energy bitching about a guy's decision to stand or kneel? Just ignore it.

Yeah until Trump made it an issue there were maybe 3 guys kneeling. The whole thing would have likely died out but that would t have helped trump politically so he stoked the fire.

because they're doing it at an entertainment event, where people pay to attend. It's the wrong place, wrong time.

If players want to protest on their own time, I'd be fine with that.

my dad is a retired Colonel with a purple heart and saw plenty of people killed - who served in Vietnam, Middle Eastern conflicts, and supposedly many other 'little things' he can't tell me about. I understand he may be a minority for people in his position, but he doesn't get offended by athletes kneeling during the anthem and says something along the lines of even if he did get offended it's not a big deal. he doesnt live in the US and generally doesn't care about sports either.

I'm so sick of this issue and the faux outrage over it. The same people getting pissed about this are the same people that will call others snowflakes for being offended about petty shite.

I don't give a flying frick what any of these athletes think about anything, and I refuse to let some dumb jock ruin my enjoyment of a sport. I got real shite to worry about.

As far as I'm concerned all of them. I just don't care what they think about politics. I don't watch because I like them, I watch because football is entertaining.

People have dug in and decided to attack people instead of the message getting misunderstood and diverted. He stayed in the locker room like some of you suggested last year, yet probably the same people are bitching. Stop trying to speak for every soldier saying they feel disrespect from players acting out one of their rights.

Is it perfect? No. Can it be more organized? Yes. But change is not easy and it seems some people don't want to acknowledge that change is needed. You just can't tell someone else how and when to carry out a right given to them. Don't agree? Ignore it and the let the people who want to discuss it work it out.

End of the day, there are several problems in and out of the community and police force. The solution has to start someone and that somewhere is not always in field in Wyoming where nobody is there to hear and discuss the issue. Hate and racism is still dividing the hell out of this country and it has to change some day. Hopefully we can start to see that sooner than later.

Sucks. Jax is a huge military town as well, nice way to lose fans.
