Yep they're coming

But unlike Cam, Mayers has shown the ability to work through them and actually get people out

Minus something like 6 less earned runs allowed per 9 innings?

Yep. I’m just saying what people will post. I have no idea if this kid will be a first round pick or will end up getting out of baseball.

I hope he is a first round pick!

It's a low risk high reward play on a local kid. I love it.

shite I’ll take it. You see the World Series the more arms the better. Get a consistent positional lineup early and let them get in sync. I’m liking next years LSU better than this years. Only thing is C problem and losing Jump and Holman. Gaining Shores and Noot back tho. Plus the plethora of starting pitchers from smaller schools with starting experience. Yeskie has his work cutout for him. Hopefully Hernendaz doesn’t go to draft and I’d feel better about our power numbers. Because that’s another thing that 2023 team had anyone could go yard at anytime and had shut down arms

Agreed. They're not looking for him to be a weekend starter. But he's a depth piece with good stuff just trouble commanding it at times. Better stuff than half of our bullpen arms we had to use on Sundays this year.

Still need power bc I'm not seeing where we can generate it with the likelihood of Jones moving on

Eta: the new pieces from Indy State can provide some but it feels like we need alot more

This Kid has the stuff and potential to be REALLY GOOD. Just needs to cut down on the walks!

Averaging nearly a walk an inning but still maintaining an ERA of 3.26 is actually incredible.

my thought as well, being able to maintain that kind of era with the walks speaks to being able to work through and get the outs behind them.
