disagree. A lot of talent in the Carolinas. Plus they have the fan support and the facilities.

Not to mention, they're right next to Georgia, which is always full of talent, UGA and GT aren't keeping all of it. USCe is set up for the right coach to win there, they were one of the top programs not that long ago.

You mean the last school to win back to back natties? Lol

How long ago was that?
Rank the sec jobs for me, tell me where carolina comes in.

Also, that carolina is shared by some other really good programs in that area. Programs like campbell, coastal, unc, ecu, nc st, georgia, ga tech, ton of good programs out there. Its not impossible to win at, but its not a top 9/10 sec job

Calm down. It's a mid-week game two weeks into the season.

I just ranked them, had them about 9th/10th in the sec pending a couple questionable ones.

No doubt he is underachievin. I just dont think its the top 10 job nationally that some think it is

He just found it hard to transition into retirement.

LSU gave him that fundraising type gig as part of his "retirement' from coaching. When it was ending he asked for an extension. LSU said no.

Paul’s wife and adult kids still live in the Baton Rouge Area. They settled in and enjoy this community. Time for him to retire and come back to enjoy history in the making with family.

So a 67 year old Paul left his family in Baton Rouge to be a shitty coach in South Carolina? That’s certainly a choice

Why in the hell would you be celebrating the failure of a former coach that won LSU a national championship? You are a sick fk.

Which coach does the rant want to fire today? What a sad place this is.
If only every post on tRant were nice and polite (aside from your potty mouth). It would be so much fun.

I liked Paul Manieri, but it was clear he was done when he retired from LSU. If he had decided to go to a smaller school in south Florida I could have seen it. He is getting overwhelmed with what is needed to compete now.

Man looked like he was in PAIN the last 2 yrs. He definitely wasn’t enjoying his self.

Just bumping this after knocking off previously undefeated #11 ranked Clemson. Paul just stuffed you into a locker.

Does that erase the losses to Northern Kentucky, Army, and Queens college?

They'll go on to lose tomorrow and Sunday and PM will be gone at years end.

I'm not sure why he took such a high profile job as SCAR baseball, and I'm even more confounded that they would hire him.
