For what its worth, your grammar is below average.

When critiquing someone else's grammar, you better make sure your grammar and punctuation is correct.

You have no idea if this is true or not.

Correct.

But that works for those saying we would have won more games with Nuss too. There is just no way to know if either of these are true.
You can’t rewind time, insert said player, and rewatch the season unfold. That’s not how this simulation works.

Take away Nabers 75 yd Td, which was basically a running play, Nuss stats would be 10-14 98 yds, 1 Td, 1 int. But people are going bananas over his average stats.

He also threw a 60 yard rope that Nabers dropped in the endzone

That’s not how this works. And I’m not a Nuss pumper…or any specific QB pumper.

It’s not but those against JD have done the same things to decrease his stats.

Both QBs are not terrible but also not superior. They just do what they do entirely differently. There are pros and cons to both of them.

I’m 100% fine with starting either one next year or even playing both. I think they both bring something useful to the team.

If a QB has 120 yds rushing on the day and on the last play of the game to let time expire runs backwards for 80 yards and ends the game with 40 yards rushing, do the stats tell the whole picture?

OP is dead right...the play is credited as a pass when it traveled no more than 1 yard and he never even gripped the ball.

I don't think stats tell the whole story regardless but there are times when taking away oddities in the way stats are compiled tell a more accurate story and his passing yards / stats against Purdue are one of those times.

If you take away Daniel's throw to the flat to Mason Taylor where Taylor made things happen with his legs, Daniels was 10/16 for 107 yards and no touchdowns. Just like most of this season, most of Daniel's throws were to receivers b/t5-10 yards from the LOS.

That is correct.

It still wouldn't account for his 67 yds rushing (11.2 yds /rush) though

Additionally, I wouldn't make the argument that these two passes were not similar at all (in regards to distance or design) but yes...you are correct. If you take away this pass to Taylor it would drastically change JD's stats.

The point remains that the stats from Monday don't tell an accurate story and the biggest factor in that the longest pass of the day was actually a run design but considered a pass.

He’ll get there but I agree, he wasn’t quite ready this year. That said, if he would have started, he would have progressed through the season. Who knows where he’d be. He’ll be there next year though.

And Nuss would have had a 75 yd TD if Nabors makes the catch and JD would have had a 75 yd TD if the receiver doesn't lose the ball in the sun. We can go on and on. The fact is JD is the starter and will be unless he struggles or is injured. Nuss will get plenty of PT in my opinion just not as the starter unless JD really screws up then Nuss may get an opportunity to win the starting job. If Nuss leaves so be it. Howard becomes #2 and starts getting reps and some PT during the season with a 5* freshman coming in. This is all a useless conversation. The more important position to worry about is LB. QB is covered for the next few years.

at the end of the day Nuss is still an average Qb

if you couldn't see with your eyes the difference of the two QB's idk what to tell you. Nuss is intentional with the ball, doesn't second guess himself, checks through his progressions, climbs the pocket and has a cannon throwing tight spirals. he was aggressive and was always looking to push the ball downfield, throwing to spots where he trusts the WR to be.

If Malik didn't drop that first long dime, his stats would've been far better.

And I am OK that Daniels was QB1, but don't take ONE play out and say that doesn't count for him if you don't give him credit for the play he performed to perfection and was let down by the receiver.
