For those calling out the OL, last night was on JJ, not OL

I've been watching all the replays and critisizing the OL play, but this game they played better, gave JJ time to throw the ball for once. Yes, they could be better, but they are improving each week. JJ pretty much got himself sacked. At the begining of the season he used to chuck it out of bounds, now he's like a deer in the head lights. I'm not calling for Lee or anything, but at least Lee had some bright spots. Yes pick sixes sucked, but JLEE was not BABIED like JJ is. If LSU doesn't put a QB that can move the chains on the field, the defense will wear down and games will be lost. LSU is pretty much stuck at the QB position. And if JJ keeps playing the way he has been, this will be a LONG three years.

Ciron Black was still disappointing. Then again, Dunlap is probably the best DE in the country.

Plenty of blame to go around.

I agree first 4 games the OL was having trouble but the last 2 theyve stepped up....not amazing but still average to good...definitely not the cause of our offensive troubles.....we just have a young QB who has to learn that there are times to worry about not turning the ball over and times to just let it rip...and when you are in the second half and havent scored a TD and the D is playing great its a time to let it rip

When 3 DL can get a sack, its the OL.

No, when the QB doesn't know how to take two steps up into the pockets, when speed rushers are on the corners, it's the QBs fault.

He cant hold on to the ball forever....many of the sacks he had a serviceable amount of time with an open reciever he just held on to the ball....the kid just needs some confidence...maybe he should go back and watch the first half of the peach bowl

Crowton is the QB coach. JJ has a lot between his ears, and doesn't make the mistakes that others make. I agree his pocket confidence and progressions need to improve.

I think JJ is dialing in to one receiver so much that he is missing 2nd and 3rd option open receivers. Am I the only one that was at the game that saw Tolliver and Trendon running wide open down the sidelines. Florida's DBs could not hang with those guys. Period.

Man let's be serious, 3 down lineman should not have that much pressure on a QB against 5 O line

True but the qb has to be able to pull the trigger and have the smarts to move before they get to him. He didn't get rid of the ball in a timely fashion the whole game. I think that was the best def front we will face all year and the OL held there own with a limited qb.

If LSU wants to move the damn chains, then try calling a play the opponent hasn't 12 times in the last 3 ball games..you can't keep running the same play with the same formation and expect different results...(Scott up the middle..how many yds did it get?..Scott off tackle, better in my opinion....

Yeah, Hitt & T-Bob getting beat multiple times was JJ's fault for stepping back....

That all depends. When a QB is dropping back to pass, the QB has to be in the right position to let the play develop. Think about it. The OL has their back to the QB. They can't see where he is or where he is moving to. Yes, they can hear what is happening of sorts.

Overall, the QB has to move to the prescribed place known as the "pocket."

I don't know who or why it is being done, but JJ is dropping too far back. It is allowing speed DE to get around the tackles. These DEs can go wide and sprint since the QB is dropping so far back (7 step drop+) AND that long of a drop takes more time before the QB can throw (awful hard to throw it dropping back..).

Crowton and company needs to either keep JJ in a shotgun/pistol or a 3-5 step drop. Drop the five wideout package...there are to many reads to make and not enough time. Keep a RB in the backfield or even put Dickerson in the backfield on passing downs....or both. Either can release into the play if necessary or block.

I agree with some observations you make. But two of the offensive linemen leave much to be desired. During the bye week LSU coaches might look at Blackwell & Lonergan and see if their running game improves. Because Big Herm & Helms replacements are being dominated on running plays.ie -Watch the Georgia game 4th down attempts and Scotts 3rd down attempt against Florida. Lots of work and experimentation need to take place during this bye week. Quit playing favorites and play the best.ie Shepard at wide receiver instead of Holliday as an example.

I call BS, 49 sacked JJ and Ciron didn't even scuff his jersey. He hasn't done shite all year.
