I never said to give him a break. All the players are open to criticism. I am not telling you not to criticize him. I simply provided fodder that the coach who sees him in practice everyday disagrees.

There is not enough basketball discussion on this board. I'm happy with any topic on basketball: positive, negative, bashing, applauding.

Let's talk about what flavor Gatorade they drink. I'm cool with that.

sounds like an unselfish team player. Good post. Coach Trent will develop him , no doubt.

Nice. So, now we are recruiting kids that "don't score".

Why does a Florida fan even care about this? Maybe you should head to Gainesville and get yourself a Tebow taint sandwich and then log onto a Gator site and give your worthless opinion?

My bad, I meant to state that was directed to whoever the other guy was whose direct quote was "give the kid a break"

Fire Trent!

Not really, just wanted to balance out the thread. I won't stand for valid, reasonable, well thought out posts here.

We have two very thin Freshman that probably should have been red shirted. They won't have SEC bodies until their Jr years. Trent needed players this year and could not red shirt anyone.
They both will be good as JRs and SRs. Most Freshman should not play. They are forced to play. Just like JJ and JL in football.

If I want to be critical of him, I will. If he plays better, I'll applaud him, but right now, he's a weakness on the floor.

Oh I see how that works. Be critical of a true freshman 6 games into the schedule. Then if he turns into a pretty good player I will come back in here and eat crow. All I am saying is give this kid time to develop in TJ system before we start blasting him on here. If it means giving him a "break", then yes.

I'm just hoping Eddie doesn't enter the NBA draft after his sophomore season. We'll be lucky if we get 3 years out of him.

Wow, they really do have guys on here that have great knowledge of the game and how you develop a young player. +1

Once I heard someone on this board describe Tasmin Mitchell as "soft" I started paying a lot less attention to ridiculous criticism here.

Yes, there are people on this board (people, as in "more than one") who believe that Tasmin Mitchell is a "bust". I kid you not.

You're probably not old enough to remember John Tudor. He "didn't score" either.

fwiw I don't thnk Trent will be recruiting anyone who deserves a redshift in the future. keep in mind he had his hands tied bc he accepted the job late in the recruiting season.

Well, at least until he has the cupboard better stocked, anyway.

My take on Eddie Ludwig:
The very limited action I have seen him play I was able to see his potential. He has basketball awareness of being around the ball and was always looking to get in excellent rebounding position. The skills are there and he will eventually put up the numbers when he gets more playing time. As a freshman on this team, he is having to play the 4 and with his size and shooting ability, the 3 would suite his style of play as he is. Trent knows what ability Eddie has and he will give him the minutes this year to make him a better player for the future. We need him to play at the 4 because of Tasmin's move to 3 and I think once he gets to step out and hit a few shots, his confidence will come and the bashers will be praising Trent for signing him. LSU needs this kid and his basketball IQ and scoring for the next 4 years. Time will tell. Geaux Eddie!!

His role with LSU is pretty similar to Luke Walton's role with the Lakers, except Ludwig is obviously not nearly as skilled or effective as a basketball player.
