Is LSU throwing weekend starters in these midweek games?

Is the Southland type team throwing weekend starters?

No, not banned .

Although I tend to try to stay away during baseball season, otherwise I will get banned.

I give up. There is no hope for you. I just presented you with a wall full of absolute facts, to show that midweek games are largely irrelevant. If you can provide some stats to prove otherwise, we can discuss it.

Until then, I won't stand in the way of you throwing a fit like a 5 year old girl who can't get a new barbie Everytime they go to the store.

I can definitely understand this. This shite gets utterly ridiculous with the football mentality during baseball season.

Yeah I didn’t read a long post of someone whining

I know the other poster said the goal of winning 2 of 3 but were 13-3 so you are bitching why exactly?

I think the frustration stems from getting dominated by three midweek pitchers who had ERAs north of 6. You can lose midweek games, but the offense is crap and you can't put lipstick on that and tell me it's a beauty queen.

My other observation is you are just as bad as the people whining to fire Manieri. You're whining because people won't subscribe to your midweek games don't matter schtick.

I'm all for understanding that anything can happen in baseball and over the course of the season our Tigers will be right where they need to be. Rather than worry about people melting or fighting with them. Should we just look at it like they are frustrated that we were beaten by a team full of guys who couldn't make our roster?

Why waste energy explaining baseball to those folks. Let them melt. No big deal.

From The Advocate after the State series...
quote:

The Tigers broke out of a five-game rut when they scored 21 runs over the final two games against Mississippi State. That week-long stretch was dark, but overall, LSU has hit the ball well this season. It’s averaging 7.3 runs per game and has the fourth-highest batting average in the conference during league play.

Add 15 runs vs a very good A&M team and we are still right around 7 runs per game in conference.

Our offense clearly has some holes in it. That said, take a quick peak at how we've been hitting the ball in SEC play.

I've never said they flat out do not matter. However, relative to our results in SEC play, they clearly matter very little. If pointing out these facts makes me "as bad" to you as people that want to fire Mainieri, I'd say that's a "you" problem.

Does it not feel a bit silly to you to get up in arms over losing a midweek game in the wake of 2 straight SEC series wins over top 10 teams, with us sitting tied for first in the SEC west?

Counts in the overall record, but clearly doesn't count to the selection committee and that's the most important thing.

how so? Honest ? The optics of losing to the bottom feeders in our state can't be a good thing.

Read the OP.

These in particular..

- In 2018 UF got a national seed, with a 20-10 SEC record. Their midweek record was 10-4.

- In 2017 UF got a national seed, with a 21-9 SEC record. Their midweek record was 8-5.

- In 2017 LSU got a national seed, with a 21-9 SEC record. Their midweek record was 7-5.

- In 2016 LSU got a national seed, with a SEC record of 19-11 (this was second place in the west). Their midweek record was 10-4.

- In 2015 UF got a national seed with a 19-11 SEC record (finished second in the east). Their midweek record was 10-3.

This week, 3 top 10 teams have lost midweek games.

Who has even vaguely insinuated it's a good thing?

Literally all anyone is saying that in the grand scheme of things, considering our current position in the SEC, losing a midweek game here and there means very little.

If we were sitting at 4-8 in the SEC and lost to Southern it would be one thing. But 3 of our first 4 SEC opponents were in the top 10 teams and we're sitting at 8-4, tied for the lead in the West, while missing arguably our best hitter and several critical arms. Try and get some perspective, that's all I ask.

Point taken!

Unfortunately, I work with some turds from a few of these schools that have beaten us midweek, and I don't like....even for a second, listening to their shite after a win against us.

I always just say to those types, "Let's wait and see who will still be playing in June."

Here we go, Red. Now we're getting to the root of issue here. I can understand this. I used to work with a bunch of Florida fans and going to work after a loss wasn't pleasant.
