The OP is true to a great extent. BDP spends his time with the LBs mostly. In his defense, I'm sure he didn't just abandon the STs and start coaching the LBs on his own initiative.

We had an era of like 10 years with some OUTSTANDING kickers. Chris Jackson, Josh Jasper, etc

And now we're struggling to even find a decent one.

Huh? I didn't say anything about coaching made them miss or get blocked. I'm just saying we better get our shite together one way or another with our kicking game!

I was an offensive lineman who also did kickoffs in high school. I was a pretty bad kicker but we were a small school. We didn't have a kicking coach and I never kicked it out of bounds. Gamble kicks it out of bounds once a game. It's not hard to keep the ball in bounds.

I always figured they had a grad assistant who worked with kickers.

A special teams coach who does not know how to coach a kicker in the mechanics of kicking should be fired.

Then there would probably be only a handful of special teams coaches in college football. Hell, look at the accident Colby was in that killed the other 2 guys. There were up at one of the many instructional kicking camps that happen around the country. Those camps exist b/c there just aren't that many people who have the knowledge to instruct and teach guys the mechanics. So they have to travel to where the teachers are.

I just took a quick glance at the staffs of 3 coaches most would consider pretty smart. All of them treat special teams coaches the same, an additional title or an afterthought

Bama - Burton Burns, RB & ST. He has no kicking experience ever in playing or coaching

Michigan - Jay Harbaugh. Has never coached before, just done quality control stuff in the NFL. Dad gave him a job

Ohio State - lifelong HS coach who coached DB's at Cincinatti and now DB's at Ohio State, just got ST 2 years ago.

Player misses a field goal. Blame the coaches.
Player misses a tackle. Blame the coaches.
Player misses a block. Blame the coaches.

Player fumbles the ball. Blame the coaches.
Player commits a penalty. Blame the coaches.
Players car runs out of gas. Blame the coaches.

You sound like you got it all figured out. Good for you.

LOL, if you think I am alone in the opinion that Les needs to go and the lack of fundamentals and scheme show up on the field due to terrible coaching, well then so be it.

Keep running LF right into the Alabama defense and think something different is going to happen. Yeah, that's on LF. right

That's not what I said. I said that you blaming everything that goes wrong on the coaches makes you sound like an entitled whiner.

This is what I said:

"Did not read but I blame the coaches for most of the issues."

So if you want to resort to name calling that's fine but I never said "everything".

But we some many issues and with the talent we have it's embarrassing. Les needs to go.

You know he did have one blocked and returned back to tie the game almost costing them to lose right? Colby will be just fine.
