Check out the Tallahasse regional for a comparison.

FSU rag arm is still pitching in the bottom of the 9th, now at 129 pitches and counting. And this is AFTER a 2 1/2 hour rain delay.

133 pitches and MSU wins on a walk off 3 run homer.

Guess there are other coaches that don't know when to pull a pitcher either.

The Rant would have fired the FSU coach a decade ago at least.

I'm not going to pretend to know about their pitching staff, but damn, you are a national seed, they have to have some kind or pen. There is a reason pitchers don't throw 130 pitches a game. I understand he hand a shut out, but geez.

The rant would have told you before this game that he was a better coach. Would have pointed to his impeciable mid week record as proof.

Anyone follow Florida state closely? I've always been amazed at the surety of their postseason choke jobs and curious if someone knows why it always happens. What is Martin doing so differently from Mainieri that makes them peak at different times?

I would have to think that pitcher has shown Martin before that he can be productive in that situation. But, I agree, that game started at 11 and he could have gone to another guy for 1 inning and burned him. I'm sure going through the loser's bracket had to factor into that.

Would have one of the very, very, very few times the Rant would have been correct.

FSU is the biggest underachiever of all time with their coach. I hope they keep him for 20 more years.

Winningest coach of all time. Alot of his problems are bad luck like what we did to them in game 1 last year. This is on martin though, terrible decision making

And I bet he'll be fine. I prefer the old school approach to pitching management.

I'm sure he will sit on his arse with his season now over and watch the rest of the regional and Mississippi State play in his home stadium.

If Martin pitched this kid like this on multiple occasions then that is borderline abuse. Maybe he is a senior with no desire to pitch in the MLB. That is the ONLY thing that makes any sense here.

Say what you want about CPM, but he would not have thrown a pitcher like this if it was game 3 of the CWS final.

It's possibly the dumbest decision I've seen in baseball this year.

No, I don't think he would either. I believe 130 would be about the max, but not after a rain delay like that.

I don't get the hate for Paul one bit. The only thing that I don't like is how much they get thrown out at home. But, that's just the way he coaches because he's aggressive, so I can get over it.

At what point in the game did the rain delay happen?
